The way that the strap was applied to the tire put a tremendous load on the sidewall. The rigger was an idiot. I'm sure being old didn't help but these tires are in pretty decent shape for their age. I would tool around town on them but wouldn't go on the highway or do anything aggressive with them. I look for the date code if you really want it.
I was hoping to not have to ship them but I could have the tires removed and bind the wheels in cardboard for shipment if you are willing to pay for the shipping. I'll have to figure out the wheel weight to get a shipping quote. Let me know if you are interested.
