What is the best way of reinstalling rear back glass window in a 64 to 66 Plymouth barracuda fastback

Not impossibly difficult. Get the top in and start working the lubricated seal lip over the glass, it will eventually pull itself in. I used wooden popsicle sticks as little pry tools on the gasket lip, the big ones, but they have nylon spudger tools now that are much stronger and wont scratch. You can't break that glass putting it in. Just get an inch at t a time from side to side. I think it took me about 30 minutes. You can have some 60 lb kid sit on it to help seat it.

I have an extra if you break it ....or if anybody needs one.
I also have several rubber seals.

LOL I have three spares! I will be doing this in the spring on a 64. Watching this thread I was dreading it.

Use soapy water with a brush to lubricate the seal. The pros use a slightly hooked nylon pry stick to work it in.

I'm waiting on mine- cars painted but needs to be cut and buff first before glass goes back in.
Wont lie- ive done glass before and that on is heavy and at weird angles on new paint.
I'm hiring glass guys to do mine.
Good luck.

When I took it out it took 3 people and I cut old rubber seal I was in as we car and I had my neighbor and other friend outside and on each side of glass as we remove seal

I will be doing this very soon on my '66 and was going to start at the forward (wide) end of the glass and work towards the small (narrow) end. Anybody done it differently? This is my first so like 65CUDA I'd like to hear how others did it, front to back, back to front, left to right, etc.

yes get the top largest part in first then work your way back. Chrysler had 3 guys sit on this glass on the floor and it didn't break. But if you hit it with a spark plug, it will bust if installed (tensioned).

I helped a friend install one
Soaped it up after placing the seal on the window. Had a small rope in the seal. He was on the inside and I was outside. As he pulled the rope I pressed on the outside. Went in very easy.

I downloaded a free manual, it details the install. I forgot the link. mymopar.com maybe?
Its on my desktop in the shop.

Best way IMO...

@ Tadams - did you start at the front (wide end) and work towards the back (narrow end) as others have suggested of back to front? or left to right?
