It seems like a high percentage of unrestored A-bodies I've seen, including mine, have a drooping glove box door. When shut, the door sags on one side (it seems like it is almost always to the left side), so the gap between the top and left side edge of the door and the opening in the dash is noticeably uneven.

A quick search didn't turn up any discussion on this issue, which surprised me. I haven't taken it apart yet to figure out how to correct the problem. Does anyone have any tips or insight?

I've had this problem. Solved it by slightly loosening screws that hold door hinge to the dash frame and then slightly moving the door until it aligned perfectly. Some possible problems you may find is that the dash frame has actually been bent out of place over the years by people slamming it pushing on it etc..

Its trial and error but you will get it to go back in place.
