The seatbelts in my '69 Barracuda fastback are a dark green color(F8??) but I dont know if they are original or not. The body color is R6 (Scorch red) and interior code is D6X (black). Some info I've seen says they should be black, but I'm pretty sure that these dark green belts were installed in some black interior Cuda's.
Anyone have original dark green belts in a black interior Cuda????
Thx
Jim
PS Found this chart that indicates they should be black - but as we all know, Chrysler did strange things back then!!!

Can’t imagine they should be anything but black. Picture does not show clearly, to me the look like faded black.

Bolts almost look to clean to be original as well. It looks like the screws for the rear floor have been removed before as the paint is chipped off.

my '68 convertible barracuda is factory black interior and has black belts. While they could be replacements, they sure are faded more in the rear where they got more sun exposure than the fronts.. fwiw

My '67 has black belts in it. The back ones were original, and where they were exposed to sunlight they faded to a green tint just like yours. Don't know why, but they did. They are still black down under the seat near the brackets, but greenish tint out on the part that would have been laying on the seat.

Yours look like the whole thing is green though. Hard to say. Maybe someone did replace them at some point.

Some of the black belts in my 67 were also faded to dark green.

An estimated 2.6 million Canadians are colour blind, most of them men, because of a missing or mutated gene on their X-chromosome. There are different forms of the condition, but most people with a moderate form of red/green colour blindness can correctly identify just five crayons from a standard box of 24.

Those are definitely Black Seatbelts that are faded over time. My original black seatbelts look exactly the same. I re-dyed them black because, other than faded, they were in perfect condition including the chrome.

You don't suppose they dyed dark green belts black if they ran low on black?? That would seem strange, but who knows. Maybe the black dye just has a lot of dark green in it.

My black belts in my ‘69 convertible faded over time to a dark green like yours.

FWIW - sounds crazy but I had good results using some black shoe polish touching up my faded rear seat belts.

I had Black belt on a 69 fade to blue, looked almost like your belts. I know mine were original.
My vote is they faded.

back seat belts have not been used - but no, it does not seem to come off.. I also use it on a rear spoiler on another car and it is the absolute best dressing for it.... just the basic paste stuff in a round tin.

Thanks guys. Black it is. Seatbelts send off to Bill Edwards for a show quality restoration.

I asked this same question years ago and another member chimed in, I believe he has a 68, all original, ordered new, came with black interior and green belts.
Mine is a 67, black with green belts, green the entire length on all 4.

I don't see how sun fading would affect under the seat.

I don't think it does as my rear seat belts were tucked between the upper and lower seat cushion and were fine. The shoulder belts were faded a little and starting to go green.
The fronts were almost a dark green being exposed to wear and tear, the sunlight, ultraviolet etc..
They are the original black seatbelts for the car and were never removed.

Doesnt the tag have a color code on them?
Black ones in my 67 are fading to a similar shade as yours.

I dont believe the color code is on the label, but not sure what 4751 means.

Does not correspond to anything in the parts book
