Were the 5300617/5300618/5300619 92-93 Dakota exhaust manifolds use on all 318 V8 Dakota trucks..or just on RT performance version Dakota pickups ?
What about vans and full size trucks (all standard small blocks/...or just performance models )?
 
No R/T Dakotas till 1998. Those manifolds were on all magnum motors in 92-93.

IIRC the big outlets are 92 and only part of 93, so measure.

Will the 92-92 Dakota manifolds fit on LA 302 heads properly, as in the manifolds ports are not to large to create exhaust leaks ? ex dakota ports to large to seal 302 heads ?? just asking .

I know people who have ran them on LA heads with no issues. So 302s should be fine but I haven't personally tried.

I used 302 heads on my 318 with magnum manifolds and they fit perfect. The exhaust ports on the 302 heads fit very well with the magnum manifolds, no chance of leaks unless they are installed wrong. The only disadvantage with the 92/93 magnum manifolds is that don't fit as well clearance wise in A bodys compared to the 96/97/98 magnum manifolds at least on the passengers side. I don't think you can get one to fit on the driver's side without modifications. Treblig

I would be installing the Magnum manifolds on a 72 318 B body. might even do a turbo . Any idea if 302 heads are up to turbocharging ?
 
I tried some 97 Magnum manifolds on my 73 318 Satellite and the driver's side hit the power steering adjustment tower on top of the gearbox.

The pass side also pointed right at the trans dipstick tube.

Don't know about a satellite (not an A body) but the passenger side 97 magnum fits really nice on an A body with no interference at all!! On the driver's side I don't know of any newer magnum manifold that will fit on the driver's side ON ANY A BODY!

I see no reason why 302 heads would not work well with turbocharging. I've never tried to install magnum manifolds on a B body. All my experience is with A and early As.

While we have you here, was there ever any newer truck manifold small block that could be made to work in our early A bodies sir ?? Thank you for your time
 
this is on an e-body for the past 18 months or so and work great. not a b body but about the same engine compartment size. The third picture is of the passenger side Jeep Grand Cherokee manifold.

Good afternoon Gilbert, a little update info for you on your manifolds and "E" body fitment. The Jeep Grand Cherokee fit like a champ, using a small Wix filter and NO right angle adapter. I could probably fit a full size 1qt filter and I'll give it a go when I change the break in oil in another couple of hundred miles. The drivers side Dakota manifold I had to machine about 3/16 of an inch off the manifold to engine mounting face and would/should have done a 1/4 inch. With the gasket it was just barely touching the power steering gear box. So back off it came and touched the interference area with a sander, problem solved. Took the car over to a local muffler shop to have new head pipes bent and installed to my existing exhaust. All in all it worked out great and I highly recommend this route to headers for us old guys and street cars :). Thank you and I thought you would be interested in the out come. Pictures to follow as soon as I download off my phone and resize

Arrow points to the area I sanded. 1 more thing I seen another member here do something similar with the manifold head pipe bolts, so I took his ideal and came up with this as an anti-rotation for the head of the bolt, no more fighting to get a wrench on the bolt head. Socket and a long extension from under the car and it works great. Enjoy.

What year /casting number for the passenger side exhaust Jeep manifold ? Wouldn't the Dakota manifold fit on the passenger side ?
 
Yes the Dakota manifold should work but the exhaust exit is closer to the firewall so it will lead to more heat transfer into the cabin. Also be aware that all the manifolds are not 2 1/8 outlet size the majority were 1 7/8 outlet. The casting numbers I used were
Passenger side is a Jeep Grand Cherokee PN-53009376 has a 2 1/8 outlet to head pipe
Driver side is a Dodge truck, van or Dakota PN-53006619 also 2 1/8 outlet to head pipe

I want to say 93 to 98 5.2 engine Grand Cherokee. I pulled this one from a 96 in the junkyard.
I'm totally happy with the sound and performance. Do I give up a bit of HP and Torque to headers... sure but this an almost daily driver and it runs great for what it is. Also a big thank you to Treblig who did almost all the research on what manifolds will work.
