A 1970 /6, 4-speed with 3.55s

Awesome + awesome x awesome + awesome = :)

I am still jealous though!

very cool, anyway. Years ago, I swapped a 440 into my friend's stepside Dodge truck about that vintage. Around here, if they have any rust problems, it usually is in that stepdown in the door threshold area. When you can, we'd love to see more pics.

Will you be getting "the T shirt"?

As much as I would love it to be a dude, i have determined that it is NOT.

i still bought a 70 dodge pickup that i intend to love and use but it's nothing special, just another of many like it. Its only special to me because it's mine. :)

That's the right attitude to have. I've been messing with these trucks for years and I love them. I have 2 and a buddy has probably 15 of them in various stages. I've only ever seen 1 Dude in person that was verifiable, because it had the dealer order. It's just a stripe package anyway and I think only 1500-2000 were built. The CSS or SERT stickers hard to find too. Just have fun with it and yes get some work out of it.

OK OK OK , I have a mental issue and I am going to hear it from my family when they find out (its dark outside now and no one knows yet)

I just picked up a 1970 Dodge D100 Truck. Its got some issues as any old farm truck would but its very rust free as would be expected for my area. Mostly complete and non running at the moment.

It has a 225 slant six and a truck 4speed transmission with an 8 3/4 rear. I don't know the gears yet.

The guy I bought it from claims that it is a "Dude" truck.

I cant tell if any decals were ever there because most of the truck is in primer black with traces of what looks like old sublime green.....he says he was going for a rat rod look with the black primer but I think it looks more like a crackhead drug dealer look. But that doesn't matter now.

How can I find out if it is a "Dude" or what it is ??

I know there are some truck gurus here

Spooky or what... the day after this thread was posted, a post on a Facebook page featuring a period advertisement appeared...

I love it. I am 5/8 way through a 61 w200 frame out rust and rot fixer upper

There is
just something about old Dodge pickups!!

Farm trucks? Usually bought new, woreout driving down the roads, ...then they are farm trucks, not licensed for highway, rough around the edges , dented from cows banging into them, hitting fence posts, kids learn to drive in them at bout age 7!.....They are a member of the family....When they do die, they just get drug out in the pasture somewhere! Sometime one of us car nuts get it and drag it home!! To give it a new life again.
