Intake suggestions for a 440 66 dart

-
Any other input on the intake? Is it a Torker 2? Were they ever made without any ID cast into them?
Yes, it is a Torker II, my suspicion is that someone ground the ID pads off. It may be possible it was not manufactured with them, I had a very early Weiand Xcelerator small block intake with no ID, but it was different in more ways than that, looked like an 8000 rpm piece, 5-1/2 deep plenum. Wish I had held onto it just to see what it could have done in a maximum effort build.

Your specs on edelbrock site will give you carb pad height and such.

A vintage CH4B is stock carb height or within a half inch of it.

The intake will say if it's a torker, or torker 2 right on the top. If it's a Torker2, I would keep it. It's shorter than an Edelbrock performer RPM. Just get a drop base air cleaner. That will get you some clearance. Putting stock manifolds will kill any power you hope to make. You might as well put a 318 in it. Consider taking off the rusty headers, and take them to the header guy. It should save some money. Also, check the torque converter. If it's stock, it will also kill performance. What are the rear gears? It's the total package that makes a good car.

Sure looks like this Torker II to me...

Thanks for all the input. I agree the Torker looks the closest.

I am going to swing by my winter storage garage later today and double check, but I didn't see any markings on it besides the Edelbrock script. It is always possible that they were ground off, but most of the work on this car was oriented toward functionality.

A couple of differences I see in the pics below are related to the threaded hole in the front of the intake. On mine the boss leading to it is scalloped while the torker pic has a straight one. Maybe mine is broken...The hole is also not drilled on mine. These could have been done prior to painting, but that would have been out of character from what I've seen or it could be an old casting?

Factory coil bracket mount. I am going to venture a wild guess and say that if you scrape the paint off of it you will find a broken off bolt in that hole, being that the other one appears to be drilled and tapped. Bolt hole size thread pitch 5/8 x 16. Yes, it is a Torker II, no doubt about it. Compare the pics closely.

That was NOT intended to be disapproving in the least! It does my heart good to see a man who has worked hard to put himself and his family in a better place.

I have a twisted sense of humor and I am quite sarcastic so forgive my bad humor!

Congratulations on all you have achieved over the past 11 years!

i am new to Mopars but have accepted the disease willingly!

My history has caused me to similarly balance work and play.

It's a pleasure to harass you sir!

No offence taken my friend. All Good! I luv Mopar and my Sobriety helped me fulfil my Garage. Haha. But you know what they say, Never enough. Building a 68 Form. S , Barracuda Notchback , 383, 4speed, 3.91 posi. Bench seat, heater delete, B5 blue. 1 Rare *** ride. OH MY , so much work !!!

I Love heater delete cars, does it have a heater delete plate or is the dash made solid? Does it have a right hand cowl vent like a Duster? Care to show us some pics?

Still a work in progress , was a mess when i got it.

Quite a stable.

I am putting a 512 in a 69 Dart, 727, with an 8.75 and RMS suspension F and R.

My choice is an Edelbrock RPM, keeping the compression down to 10.5. Planning to use Trick Flow 240 heads and a Comp Cams 23-602-9 or 23-701-9 stick.

Be fun on the street either way!

Yeah, that’s like what was installed in superstock cars, I guess the interior was gutted out. Was there a cut out in the dash for heater control? I imagine there is and the normal place in the cluster for a barracuda is blank or has a block out plate on top of it.
