Radiator choices 26" or 22"

no shroud on mine so far I haven't needed one ,I've been stuck sitting with a hot starter but the Champion has never failed me even in the insane prairie heat
Good to know, Thanks for all the info. So you just used a stock pump to make everything fit?

Got the high flow water pump on it. But when your right. Your right. You cant over cool the engine. And it is going to see primarily if not most of its life on the drag strip. With the occasional cruise over to the car show a mile away.
I got to disagree here. I remember when every track had a watering hole. Guys could dump their water and refill with cold water. They would run small radiators for less weight and deal with the hassle of changing the water. Cars were set up to dump the water fast. Dont see this no more.
Your motor will make more power and last longer at 180° as compared to say 150°. Heat is horsepower. The question is, do you have enough reserve cooling capacity to handle the additional heat your making at full power? If not, your temp climbs. Maybe into the danger zone. If so then you leave the line at a lower temp so as to remain at a safe temp. If your system is up to the task, all that is out the window. So you should be able to overcool your motor. But running a good high flow thermostat, you dont.

I am using the aluminium 360 pump with the passenger side inlet like the one pictured on your motor , 18" fan with a spacer , it fits about an inch or so behind the rad , just enough to get a gear wrench between the fan blades to take the fan off when needed .I can't remove the bolts one by one tho I have to loosen them all and lift the fan straight up with the bolts still through the spacer . I have an OE shroud that I bought here on FABO before I switched to the Champion but I haven't ever gotten around to making the brackets to use it with the new rad .

PS , I would gladly take some pics for you but the garage is down the back corner of the property and it's 30 below and the snow is 3ft deep between the house and back there so it might be a while before that will happen eh ! lol

I went with a 26" from Classic Industries MD2288S fit perfect, and keeps it running at 195 all day long...
I liked the stock look better than any other...

Cannucky, Is there enough room for radiator cap and neck to be moved towards grill of car and entire radiator. Talking about Moving mounts of radiator towards engine, which would give more clearance for fan. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks

hmmm not really sure what your asking , moving the rad forward would mean moving the core support which is a structural member I believe . Anything is possible just what is it worth in time and cost to gain what 2 or 3 hp , torque moves weight and your building a torque monster so why sweat a couple of top end hp ?

Its supposed to hit plus 1 on monday and some rain is supposed to hit with it so I'll try to get top the garage and take some pics of what I see .

Ya, I'm working out of town and will be for 6 months and still trying to keep this car build from stalling. It's really hard when I'm not there.

alrighty I dug a Chunnel to the garage yesterday to get some things and took a couple of pics while I was there
