A good friend of mine (and a member here as well) is looking for a 340 AVS for his project. There was some confusion over whether he needed a 4424 or 4425 carb and have now confirmed a 4424 (68), 4611 (69), or 4933 (70) is what he’s looking for. He’s currently stationed in Afghanistan so asked me to help him out as his communication is spotty at best. Send Pictures and price either in this thread or by PM. Thanks!

4424 is a 68 340 auto, 4425 s for a 68 340 manual. 4611 is for a 69 340 manual, 4933 is for a 70 340 manual.
 
Thanks! I was just going by the Numbers he asked about. I know his motor (currently being assembled while he is gone) is a 68 and he’s going with a 4 speed in a 65 Valiant so any one of the 3 manual carbs should do the trick. I will edit my original post.
 
Correction- 4424s is for 340 manual trans, while 4425s is for 340 auto trans if you want to be correct. It is difficult to find a stick shift carb with all it's linkage and diaphragm intact. Is now available aftermarket but is expensive. If you find a complete stick carb it is worth paying the money for.
 
i can be a bit dislexic, 4424 is for a 68 340 manual trans, 4425 is automatic, my bad...
 
We all make mistakes, you were just trying to help. Here is a photo from the manual to erase any doubt.
