Before my '65 Valiant four door 273 become an all out bracket racer, I drove up to Fremont Raceway (80 miles one-way) circa 1973 to run it pure stock in two-barrel form, street tires, 7 1/4 rear end. I was turned away when the tech inspector found I had no seat belts.
I believe in '65 seat belts would have been standard equipment, so a previous owner must have ditched them for some reason.
