Just waiting for spring to show up so I can get started. I owned this same model in 73' in high school. big plans, moderate budget, marginal skills, high hopes...….. I don't know much about social media but a friend turned me on to this site and said it's been real helpful to him in restoring his 67 dart GT.. Are there any other folks out there who are afflicted with the A Body wagon sickness like me?????????? How am Iever going to paint this thing properly if I can't find the rear side glass rubber? Can I just make it with a windshield rubber that seems to be VERY available.....

Welcome to FABO. Post some pictures of your 66 Longroff. We love pictures.

We have quite a few "wagoneers" here than can help you find the parts you need.

Hello Cliff . You are in a safe space here.

Even you can recover from wagon sickness with our wonderful 12 step program.

Just trying to navigate site with my limited phone skills. Did the pics upload?

Yes they did and that wagon looks like a good start.
Here's some motivation for you.
One of our Mopar group has a wagon.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS:

1. strip car down to a shell
2. Bag and tag all items
3 Spray wash the car inside and out
4. make sheet metal repairs to all panels and floors
5. reinforce any weak areas in body (time for torque boxes and wheel tubs)
6. clean and restore dash and wiring
7. build a KILLER motor and trans
8. find a good heavy duty rear end, overhaul and install
9. undercoat
10 paint and buff
11. install engine, trans, new interior, dash, etc, etc
12 Engine break-in

13...YOU'RE CURED!!!! Now drive like a raped ape and have fun.

Caution: always use blinders when driving around or you'll surely spot another Mopar and bring it home. If this ever occurs simply go back to step 1.

I bet the Wagon doesn't leak oil! Welcome aboard!
Thanks . No it doesn't and it's 30 years older than the bike. Un fortunately it won't fit in the 12x22 shed our bikes live in so I had to build a 24x40 pole barn for this project and there went my restoration budget... Priorities right?????????????

Welcome aboard!
thanks man. am surprised to see the response to my original post and delighted to see what appears to be a whole subculture of folks similarly afflicted. Bitchn', this site could be a wealth of resources..

Welcome! The early A bodies have some unusual characteristics even when they aren't wagons. You will find a bunch of helpful people with good information on this site.

We all have our favorites/preferences but we are ALL MOPAR! Beautiful wagon. Get a feel for the site and all the forums. Get a list of things you need and post want ads, some of the wagon stuff is hard to find so get it if and when you can, if its reasonable.
Enjoy!

Nope, no wagon sickness here...

It's supposed to be my wife's car... She keeps asking when she can drive "her" car.

I spent some time surfin the site today and can't believe the incredible amount of info and experience available to me for just askin'. Glad I joined.. This will be indispensable in my novice effort to restore and modernize this car. It's like having a thousand like minded people hanging out in my garage who have already done it

There are plenty of wagon guys and at least one girl on here. I'm on my 3rd one. I save all my stuff (yeah I have an extra set of side glass and seals, sorry ), but I have bought wagon specific stuff from member Lee Robinson. He seems to really know his stuff. Good luck, nice car !
