New to the torsion set up , does the same theory hold true for torsion bars like with coil springs in that 6 cyl bars are better suited for drag racing versus the V8 ones to aid with car lift etc ???

Just curious I just obtained a 66 Dart that was an original 273
automatic car and im building my for Super Stock racing so I need proper weight distribution etc please educate me thanks Chris .

yes, 6 bars are like light coil springs, lots of sag under a V8 to them so there is lots of movement up there.

Yes, you can get new bars at PST or Just Suspension...

dont get new unless your set on new 6 bars. Plenty of them should be on here as many go from 6 to 8 and thats the first conversion piece they pitch into the scrap pile.

A-body 35.8" 0.810" 90 P5249148 Drag Racing
A-body 35.8" 0.830" 100 N/A 6-cyl. Production bar

What company would sale the A body drag bars u mentioned?

Thats a Mopar Performance piece. So little demand that PST probably doesnt make that one.

u spent that much. unscrew torsion bars u have . is good front will raise on take off.weight when take off will transfer to rear

PS u months late from giving me the info
That's not correct, and the same stored lift energy applies, yes. 6 cyl. bars wound tighter will help transfer that weight back before the frt' tires get off the ground, or at least floating, stiff bars unwound only lower the ride height......which is worse because the the amount of lift will be less before they unload the frt tires........fine if You're running pro stock and have the tire for it and have to avoid standing it on the rear bumper,..but for most of Us.........
