OOOH, this is weird- not mine -factory 360 Valiant 4D !!!

I wander if it is a sure grip and what gears were in these cars? I would take the 11 hr. ride for it I'm in. This would make a great sleeper . I wouldn't even paint it

END: End of Sales Codes

Don’t think it has 4:10 gears. I think that A32 could (should?) be an A38 code.

The "8" in that code looks odd on the tag. there are a couple other 8's nearby and they look different to me.

Interestingly it actually looks like it could have been a "2".

On another note I actually purchased the Mopar production and option codes book, AKA Galen Govier "White Book" for 1975-80 in order to research this car.

I'm "underwhelmed" with this.

It doesn't even mention Valiants or Scamps. Only Dusters and Dart Sports :(

...and it doesn't list details for the A38 option, it says "see the 72-74 book".

Really Galen?
That's cheap.

I think it looks more like an 8 than a 2 when I compare it to both.

But not so much that I would die to defend my opinion. :D

Just another reason I've always called him GAYlen. lol

1966?

Just one reason some online decoders suck.

The computer programs do not recognize model year changes from the data put into them.

It's hard to track all the minute changes year to year too. I'm no fan of Galen but tracking Chrysler codes is not easy, or cut and dried.

My point was...

There is NO entry for any non-Duster Valiant, Scamp, etc and NO entry for any dart other than Sport, and while it would have taken at most, a paragraph to print the A38 option details, it instead, insinuated a need to purchase another volume.

I understand what Galen has given to the Mopar community.
He is our equivalent of the ford "Marti" report.

It's just sloppy IMO.

That thing is awesome.Like others have said, finding these kinds of oddball cars are another thing that is so cool about Mopars.

According to "Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler Police Cars 1956 to 1978"

The A38 package should have a 3.2x sure grip standard.

...and here's yet another extenuating circumstance or never say never...

Did they ever put a HP motor in a Valiant?

No... except a 1970 Valiant Duster 340, and a 76 Valiant 4D police car!

As far as I remember You could order the 273 c.i. Commando for all Valiants (with the exception of Stations) in 1966.

It ain't one of one by color, my '75 four door Valiant is rallye red.

But mine is just a 318 2bbl car. that's one sure looks like a legit police package.

I was watching it, too. Closer it got to the end, the more I wanted to bid on it.

Was teasing my wife about flying down and spending a couple of days getting it in working order and then “Roadkill”ing it home. :D

16 bidders, thing was popular. Even found an article on it on a barn finds website. Guessing some cop car enthusiast wanted it pretty bad, but just a gut feeling. Really hoping someone here snagged it. What a cool car.

I really liked this car but it would be 10 grand Canadian by the time it got here . I hope it gets a full resto .

That's large change for a 76 4 D with no glass.

Made for an interesting exercise.

I was in until a little over 2500

For $3900 you could get about half of a rusted 68-70 Charger!
