Trans Fluid to Use?

Went with Valvoline +4. It was only 6.48 at Wally World, NAPA house brand, which they say is Valvoline in a NAPA bottle is $7 down here.

You bought what you bought, and It will be fine, but I'll throw my two cents in...because i was wondering the same thing and googled for info., and because the speed shop I tried to purchase B & M Trick-shift fluid, (I had a Trans-Pack shift kit installed during the rebuild years ago and that's what was recommended, but it's basically "F" type i think), could not get it any where...even from Summit. Two weeks later i'm searching for what the heck I should use instead, Ha! (decided against "F" type)
It seems like anything will work, the trans doesn't know the difference, it's just lube. Many say "F" is good for the track, grabs better, but others say it will ware the clutches faster, but?
Many said, ATF-4 is good for the newer trans with overdrive, but you only need Dexron 3 if it's an old TF-727 3 speed.
And last but not least, (and surprised no one mentioned it here in this discussion), Dexron 6 full synthetic.
Many said, our Mopars are Mopars...not Fords, and need Dexron.
Quite a few people liked/are using The Dextron-6 and their trans. seems to like it. And others said it's a waist of $'s
I decided to go with Valvoline Dexron-6, I'm still in the mid of the oil change, but will be dumping it in tomorrow. So guess I'll find out soon if it was the right call.
PS: others say KY & astro-glide is the best! ;)
