Lost dealerships
It took years to find out my 69 GTS came from Lafayette Dodge in Lafayette, IN that later became Twin City Dodge. I got a subscription to newspapers.com and found the original ad from when I bought my car on June 28, 1978! I did research with that site until I found out where Lafayette Dodge was located originally, now a feed store. I did by an old dealership in Rockford, IL that was Strandquist Plymouth and started out as a Dodge Brothers store in 1929! It was closed in the great ripoff of Chrysler dealers in 2009.
