Pay Pal fees hit an all time high.

Is there still no fee for sending to friends?

Yes that's still free, but I will NOT use it unless I know the person pretty well. I would use it with you. I just used it with crackedback and a few others. But for the most part, you ain't gonna catch me usin it. lol

I helped a friend restore a 67 Mustang. When we were done, as a Thank You (I did the body, paint, panel replacement) he gave me a bunch of left over parts. Many of them were new. I listed them on Ebay and on a Classic Mustang site. The parts that sold on Ebay were a rape job. By the time you pay Ebay and PayPal fees, there isn't much left. I guess we'll all have to pad the sale prices. BTW, here is a picture of the Mustang .

I sent $37.00 usd from Canada to USA with the friends and family. I didn’t pay a fee, but it said the recipient would pay a fee, so I paid it so he would receive all his cash. I could pay with US dollars from my pay pal account to the U S. since January 1st it won’t let me, it starts in Canadian dollars then does the conversion to U S dollars. Pay pal is getting crazy with their fees. I guess the price of doing business is getting out of hand . P/P knows they have us over a barrel. Cause the way the world is going with people getting screwed over more and more, u have to have some sort of a safety net. Kim

I just prepared a shipment to Japan today and confirmed the fee before sending my invoice.
It was a 4.4% transaction fee plus 40 YEN (.36 US). When he paid the bill the confirmation from paypal was spot on to the penny.
Roy, you either got charged an international rate or they slid a packing fee in on you.

Man I'm telling you, I"m sending it to Mount Dora Fl. I collected 26.00 and the PP fee was 1.44. You do the math.

I wouldn`t like it either, but come on man, $1.14 gonna kill anyone that messes with old mopars/ We should be used to getting raped !
Just look at what some people want/charge for parts on here. I always found better prices when I was building restoring my fish.

I have lots to sell soon....eBay has always been good but the fees suck....haven’t sold on there in over 4 years or so, think I’ll post them here and on FB sites instead when I’m ready.

You can come to the Big WPC swap meet here this weekend and swap in my spots if you like. It’s a great way to meet members, sell parts and commiserate with your fellow Moparians!

I know I keep with what costs every where I spend a $, have to. Amazon club fees? I don't spend enough on there to justify $12 fee or so per month. Ebay ? I shop prices with shipping. If Paypal gets to me I will pay for everything with my one credit card, pay it off end of every month or do without! Same with repop parts vendors, I shop quality of part, cost of shipping, price... everywhere really. I am a poor tight ***!

Papal fees are so worth the convience for me. Just never understand all the crying about it. As a buyer I always assume I’m paying the fee. Not a big deal.

As far as eBay goes stop selling there if the fees are too much for world wide advertisement. Better yet list the stuff in Facebook marketplace for free. :)

I have noticed as far as cars for sale, FB marketplace has CL beat all to heck!!!! Parts? Tx is Chevy country, hard to find any Mopar parts here on anything.
Feebay?? is basically buy, hardly ever sell any,, I just offer what I want to pay inc shipping.. I refuse to pay any jacked up shipping period.

My take on it is, I would rather pay the fees to ebay and paypal than not sell the part at all. There isn't much of a market around here and everybody wants you to give it to them. I have listed stuff and not even got a call on it or the offer I get is 1/10 of what it is worth or I am asking.

When using Paypal, list any item over the cost of what you really want for it. That way if a buyer wants an item & uses Paypal you still get your final price.
Good response.
Why do you look at the item and see a decent price but the shipping is outrageous?
The seller is trying to get ''X'' amount of dollars for an item and when you add it all up, they do.
It's just a game.
The way i look at it, if you don't want to pay a final price for an item that you think is too expensive or sell an item only to pay a lot in fees, adjust your bid or posting so you get what you want.
Pure and simple............

So whats with all the outrage? Its like you guys have never paid sales tax at a brick and mortar store before. For instance the sales tax in washington state varies based on state, county, and city taxes.Spokane,wa is 8.8%, while the tax rate in Rosalia,wa 32 miles away is 7.8%.Or closer to me, lewiston idaho is 6% while just a mile away across the river, clarkston wa is 7.9%.Just the cost of doing business. As Long as shipping isnt some unreasonable amount like 19.99 on a $15 part....

Something definitely has changed in paypal.

I tried to purchase two nearly identical item using ebay BIN.

One was in Canada, and for that item, the paypal transaction would not go through.
It insisted I enter credit card info, even though It was a direct from my checking account transfer and the other transaction to the US vendor went through just minutes before.

Sellers, Post a buy it know on E-bay. Tell bidders they need to contact you for inspection of item before purchase due to the item listed on Craigs and may be sold . Skip E-bay fees when ending listing early due to item listed and sold elseware.

You now used E-bay for free advertising to the world. Use money transfer if you want to eliminate Pay pal fees also. Watch your money transfers there are people who take your money and send junk. Make sure you get their Name, address, and phone number. We are on a forum searched around the world and I myself have knocked on doors for members that were ripped off.

You have to move ahead like "Trump". Use the art of the deal to stop from being taking advantage of buy big Corps.

Oh Yeah, Mexico will pay for that wall in the end one way or another. I am sure "Trump" has a plan now that NAFTA is gone.

Have you purchased shipping lately? It's making me recycle stuff, rather than sell it because of exactly this issue. It's not worth selling something for less than about $35 because of the cost and nuisance of shipping it.

Your best bet is USPS flat rate shipping. On the larger things, you just have to shop around.

Paypal has had instances where they charge sellers an incorrect fee. Happened to me a couple weeks ago. Buyer in TX and I got hit with an international fee. Sent an email and it got fixed.

Crap happens sometimes.

Shipping is STUPID expensive now. Things have a changed and prices are not going back down. Be creative with searching out shipping alternative you have. Shipping an intake in a $19 USPS flat rate game board box as an example.

Even greyhound isn't all that good anymore.

Boy I bit every postal shipper or carrier that had to handle it was cussing you. lol

Paypal..... It like good pizza..... You know it's bad for ya but you gotta have it lol....

The cost of doing business anything these days is off the chain. PP is no different. I would only sell on Ebay now if it was a big ticket item and I wanted the world to see it. As for shipping, I personally think things have become easier with Fastenal for big items. As for everything else 9 out of 10 times I can't beat anything at work because we ship a high number of packages.

I only use paypal now because you just don't know how things will play out with sellers now which is frustrating....

While the USPS Flat Rate Boxes are a decent deal in the shipping world, they're rarely suitable for car parts. The cardboard itself is thin and rips easily, and the boxes are too small to hold much -- especially when you have to add "the 3" of collapsible material" required to conform to their insurance requirements and expect your buyer's claim to be paid when it shows up damaged.

Aren't you tell the gospel on this..... Just received a Typewriter for my parents Friday with sloppy packaging and it got damaged. The seller was shocked.... Their fault and that's exactly why I use paypal... Scary to think that people do not realize how much damage can be done during shipping...

The entire system is just rigged against small biz & individuals trying to make it.
God help you if ya have to fle a USPS claim. Tried to file claim for parts they damaged during delivery last month. Website worked great for me until i tried to file claim online. Drop down boxes suddenly would not work. Of course they claim issue is with my PC. Contacted them on jan 3rd thru local PO trying to file claim. Of course they had no forms. Went with direct contact and said ok then send me claim info. by mail.
Still have received zilch.

We have a 3 year old claim at work for lost mail. I mean like pallets and pallets. I think the claim was around 20k. The papertrail was insane and we will never see a dime and they absolutely lost it...

Side note, did you sharpen those knives I got from you Bruce?
