The local road course track actually requires those or the other style of head/neck supports on all vehicles with 4 point or more harnesses
So will SCCA for most, maybe now all, W2W racing.
What will matter is what the inspectors see on the car. SCCA itself does not certify or approve equipment. They will check what is on it, including your personal safety gear before you race. Some regions set up pre-event checks. Probably should go to one and observe.
