Looks like a Milodon without the yellow anodizing.
If its steel, measure the depth and see if the milodons that look like that match the height.

What I did with mine was , first off I wanted the oil away from the crank some more so I cut off 1" of my dip stick tube so the stick goes down further then I filled it up to the full mark and it took 7.5 qts.
My pan was a custom pan that had a hole for the center link to go through and wasn't as deep as yours. That's a milidon pan you got there.
Here is a picture of the old motor coming out to get a cleaning and new freeze plugs after 10 years in the car.

Milodon lists the eight quart pan as 8-3/4 inches deep, pan rail to bottom of pan. Does yours measure clove to that?

Curious as to the reason for the custom pan. I "think" I have an idea that it's due to ground clearance of the standard Miloden deep pan and either cost or width of the Road Race version? I am seriously considering one that looks like yours for my E-body to keep it low profile with the added capacity.

Thats a Milodon part#30935 8 qt. pan the corner is cut off to clear the cross member..

Yeah and to the OP, don't forget the hardened intermediate shaft like some people if you're runnin a high volume oil pump. lol

This engine was in my AAR and the car was lowered so yea ground clearance for sure, the pan had a expanded metal windage tray and trap door the pick up was 1/2" pipe straight down from the bottom of the pump. I never had a oiling problem and the motor seen 7600 RPM a lot.

Excellent. I need to fix or replace my stock pan anyway so I think this will be the way that I go. I am hoping that my engine will see a lot of corners and the stock pan is woefully inadequate in controlling the oil reserves. I was losing oil pressure under normal semi-aggressive braking and had to overfill to keep from exposing the pickup.

that pan was on the old motor I pulled out.seemed like it was a nice fit so I thought I'd just use it again.I don't know what hardened shaft that rusty is referring to, but I believe it's a standard oil pump so I hope I'm good.thanks for the help.
