I just put this kit on yesterday with the jegs chambered mufflers the drivers side went on perfect with one cut for length . the passenger went on with a mod to the first pipe after the header .I tried that pipe from the drivers side on passenger side and fit perfect . if the kit came with them 2 pipes the same it would be a perfect fit . the tail pipes fit beautifully . 73 duster 340 clone . former \6 car .hooker super comps .

I used the jegs duals too. I used TTI head pipes off of the original manifolds, and I used Dynomax Super turbo mufflers. Turned out nice, sounds good too.

Nice pictures of the install. I have Patriot headers and they come out in about the same place. I bought header mufflers for them but they don't fit because they come out in the same place as yours do on the frame. I found some header collector extensions that take a little jog like your exhaust does coming off the headers so I hope to still use the header mufflers with some kind of exhaust behind them. Maybe out in front of the rear tires or maybe a full exhaust. Don't know yet. Those pictures you put out clarified a few things from me . much appreciated!

I can take more pics of any part of it if it will help anyone .

I dig it! I disagree with the cross over, though. So did Doug Thorley. I spoke with him many years ago about them and he said they never really saw enough return to worry about them plus that he thought they took away some of the "crispness" of the exhaust note.......and I agree with that. To each their own.

I didn’t do one on mine ether. I didn’t think it was a big deal but of course if you wanted to add one in, there cheap and easy to do with the right tools. It’s a worth a few HP. It does take a certain something out of the sound and adds it in another area.

I tell ya though, the X pipe changed the sound a lot more.

Nice! Used the same kit with Heddman headers, Flowmaster 40's, and Pypes 68-70 Charger tips. It all went in easy and fit very well with me helping my exhaust guy. We had two small pieces left over. I don't care for a crossover either, any small gain isn't worth it being in the way to me, and I like the way it sounds better without one.

Digging up my old turd on that cold as November day. It needed to be warmed up. Stone cold.

Oh, Jegs 2-1/2 w/Hooker headers as recommended.

I have used the kits from Jegs and Summit and they all work well with some tweaking. The mufflers are a crap shoot though. Get a kit sans mufflers or just shelve them for a swap meet sale. Big fan of Jones Full Boar muffs here. Made in the Good Old USA too. Going to have to do some creative Fab work on the Duster with a Low deck 470 and Hooker fender wells. Gonna be a LOUD one regardless, Just the way I want it. Better value than an $800 quote I got from the local muffler boys for a header back system. I remember $175 with Turbo Muffs. Ahh the good old days.

Hello,
What headers do you have. I bought this kit for my 72 and I’m having issues fitting the over the axle pipe in. 360 with headman headers

Thanks for the jegs kit report. As far as crossover pipes go I used to be sold on them they do help eliminate drone in my opinion but as far as performance enhancement not so much. I never cared for X pipes seems to muddle the exhaust note in my opinion I like the sound of separated duels and For a Street car that's important to me.

i have Hooker super comps . when you install start at the rear and work forward .

I used the recommended Hooker 1-5/8 as well as the Summit branded headers. As mentioned, work the tail pipe section first. Use the muffler hanger to hood it tight enough to help keep it still. That’s it! You don’t want to crush the pipe any.

That worked much nicer. I just have to go to Napa and get the two front pieces of pipe.

Thank you sir. I’ve had this built for two years now. Sure makes everything so much easier. Typically with exhaust I have always taken my builds to exhaust shops and paid them to just be unimpressed with the job they do. I’m glad I did some research and found this kit and this thread. I’ll still be unimpressed with my work but at least I didn’t pay out the nose for the same outcome. Haha

I agree with this. It seems to me you can hear the pulses of the engine better without the crossover, especially if you have a full exhaust out the bumper. Crossover may add a few hp but it sounds better without it.
