We started wrapping the wiring under the hood with friction tape. Very easy stuff to work with. Turning out very nice and very factory looking thus far.

It does look great. I used high temp 3M electrical tape on mine and it to was easy to work with. I tried to do most of mine while it was out of the car.

I have been meaning to ask you where you got your heater hoses? It’s cool how they are routed.

I think we just matched two hoses up from auto zone with 90 degree angles at one end and cut them to length. Ive personally never liked them going all the way out and around so I just shot them strait through.
 
We finished wrapping and routing the engine compartment wiring today and finishing up some details. Engine compartment is officially done-ish. Lol.

We even pulled it outside and let it idle for about a half hour and got some pics. Running GREAT.

That is by no means an amateur job. Its well done and the work appears Meticulous.
A good way to jump start the young man.
Good enough? Nah, take it apart and do it again,perfect!
Its a nice looking machine,and you have the benefit of working on it with family.
 
This has been a great thread, enjoyed it and learned as I watched here , I still think it's my old 63 from 16 years ago , last tagged in a mans last name of Crocker here in Arkansas :popcorn: , love this build men :thumbsup: Super job by all, and well written :D

Thank you very much. It’s been nerve racking at times, but we have redone things 2-3 times for that very reason. Lol. The quest for perfection.

I keep telling Jason, lots of people can build a car. But to be able to design and build a car that not only functions as a reliable automobile, and is attractive to the eye. That is where it becomes art.

That does look a lot like Jason’s car!

Jason’s was originally silver. Followed by blue, than some kind of red. Than silver again. Lol

Thank you. He drove it up and down the driveway in the snow yesterday. Lol.

It actually drove through the snow pretty well with those big *** rear tires. Lol

That's awesome-I recall the first few times driving my Mustang; it wasn't through the snow though-just through a state part near my Dad's house...just fun to sling a little dust and get used to a light car with V8 torque...even if it was a mild mid-80s 302 with an RV cam. So many good memories and I can only imagine he feels the same way.

It reminds me of a stock 340 exhaust note.
 
I'll probably have to watch it when I get off work-our work computers don't allow us to view embedded videos (insert sad face). But I did have to go back through and read this build again from the get go because I couldn't recall some of the details. Again, the culmination of effort here has paid off in spades, and every post made me smile....so if you received some more "alerts" of me liking posts-that's why.

Thank you. No doubt it’s come a long ways.

Me and Jason are getting ready to head over there and finish wrapping and organizing the under dash wiring and install the hood pad and trunk mat. Details. Lol. Fun stuff finally
 
Details...the devil is in them...then y'all get to enjoy the fruits of your labor on a regular basis and Jason will fully appreciate all the effort that's gone into the build-and be proud of those accomplishments, or at least, should be proud of them. If I'd had the opportunity to take down and rebuild my car the way you guys have, with the same enterprise of knowledge, when I first took ownership of it 25 years ago, I would have a whole different car, well, at least until the quarter panel and hatch were pushed in courtesy of a drunk driver.

That event was a lifetime ago, but I'm still somewhat bitter about it, and I didn't have the resources to accomplish the fixes correctly until several years later...but that's another story...

With that in mind, I'd caution Jason to not park his vehicle on the street if possible.
