No, unfortunately for my head, it was definitely the gas pedal. 98 Dakota 4x4 318/Auto. She's pumping the "brake" for 10-15 bleed cycles and I'm not getting anything out of the caliper. Frustrated, I thought maybe there was some thing special and it needed vacuum for the assist so I put the key in and started it for her then got back under the front wheel well. Told her "OK, pump it" and the engine bounced off the rev limiter, and my head bounced off the inside of the fender as I jumped back, completely startled. Said a few choice words and then we finished the job. Ordered a Motive bleeder kit that afternoon so I'd never have to go through that again. When I need to pedal bleed, I use my son who's big enough now and I make sure he's on the right pedal. So far, so good but I'm not getting rid of the Motive.
I saw that on UTUBE!!! She's getting a lot of likes on that video! She knew very well what she was doing!!! LOL

okay now my wife's in a good mood! 318 will not win go ahead and call you may be getting a nice answer now...

I believe the ? was answered to my satisfaction.I worked by myself for 30 years, very small steel fab shop.In those 30 years I learned how to do things by myself. Not always someone around to help me,so I still try to do what I can by myself.the engine is on a motor stand so remote starter thought is more work than it,s worth.I could get my wife out in the shop but she believes that I,m the mechanic and she lets me drive her cars that I build for her.LOL I probably do ask the same thing more than once, worried I'm going to end up with oil on my ceiling.I really do want to thank you guys for helping me out.

I found the tread I was looking for on the oiling. It said 90* btdc spin pump, passenger side will oil.20* atdc drivers side will oil.have to try it,but sounds as simple as it gets.

update.----pre-oiled this morning.my motor oiled at tdc, pass side.135* atdc oiled drivers side.I guess it depends on how the crank is drilled? If I had to do over, I would have drugged and dragged the wife out to the shop and had her run the drill while I turned the motor.Tryed the positions above and no oil.put enough pressure on pump that when I would stop the pump would run in reverse. I hope it didn,t hurt it.so I started turning the crank about 33* at a time, when I hit the right spot it gushed out.Started at 4:00 AM and now it's time for a nap.
