Looking for some feedback on interior color choice. Currently the Dart has the "Honey Gold" interior- needs front seat recovered and the carpet needs to be replaced. I was thinking of doing black carpet regardless- however after seeing the cost of the gold seat covers I am thinking of changing the whole interior to black..
The headliner, door panels, and dash pad are in great condition.

Body color will most likely eventually be blue or turquoise.... would love to see pics of cars with this interior combo.

Any feedback??

Thanks

what will you do with the upper door panel color?

i really wish those were repopped.

I would see how it looked with Petty/Basin street first before changing the interior. I have seen EB3 blue with the yellow gold stripe package before with the honey gold interior and I personally liked it, your present interior is too nice to mess with in my world...

As clean as that is, I'd be tempted to throw a new carpet in it and keep it the way it is.

Are you changing the exterior color?

I will definitely change the exterior color- currently brown- and I am thinking blue, poss. turquoise.
Car needs lower 1/4s and I have a set of replacement fenders to go on the car. If the front seat cover wasn't so bad I wouldn't even think of changing it but seeing prices around 900 just for the front seat cover!

if you changed the carpet, seat covers, and rear package tray to black i suppose that would look ok

seeing the picture of the car i would go back all original unless you are going to 100% disassemble the car for a repaint.

i think it looks good in original color scheme. doodoo brown looks good to me

Burnt orange metallic/root beer brown would look great but I like the current brown too.

I like your current color combo. Its classic on 73-74 A bodies. If you don't like the Brown I would go with a Gold color to match the interior or maybe even Sand Pebble Beige.

i like the color of the int now. i'd do black carpet though..

a darker blue would look good with that int but a lighter blue or turquoise not so much...

I personally like the original colour combo , seems like everyone has a blue, turquoise, orange dart. However, you have to make it your own! ...guess I'm no help...

It comes down to what your time is worth. The honey gold seat covers are more than the black seat covers. However, how much time will it take you to disassemble your interior to die all the honey gold plastic to black? Headliner, dash pad and frame, door panels, package shelf, steering column? If you place little to no value on your time, then going with black will save you some $. However, if you value your time, I suspect the time taken to strip your interior, die it and then reassemble will be more than the $300 to $500 savings of buying black seat covers. Plus if you plan on keeping the car long, be mindful of chips or fading of the black interior bits that will show honey gold below.

What’s the colour code of your exterior paint? My ‘75 Scamp is T4 (cinnamon) with parchment vinyl top so the interior is parchment too.

I have the very same interior and color in my 73 y3 duster and my split bench needs a cover also but I can't find it in this color i'm sure legendary has it but there website is hard to navigate for me .but 900 bucks for a cover is in sane . I got new carpet with the rubber back it is very nice , and I also need a new honey gold dash pad which I can't seem to find .

Like color combo as is. Body paint looks good enough from pics to be able to fix areas to match/blend.
Complete body color change is alot of $ even before bodywork is added in.
Black carpet good. Might be able to find another bench seat and dye it to color for alot less than $900....
If $ no issue, black interior, blue exterior IMO.
D.

Color combo looks good I think. Do a brown rug to match the out side color.
how about 73 with 69 nose

A full color switch to black will cost a whole lot more than that, plus all the time involved.

Wow!! That needs some huge fender well headers and a set side pipes made out of those 5 inch chrome turn out stacks the diesel guys use with some race noise reducer cones welded up in them.

I too like your current interior and exterior colors. If it was me, I'd add a brown carpet (vs. black).

My '73 Dart also had that Baby-****-Brown interior.
Replaced the front seats with a pair of BMW seats and painted the rest of the interior black with vinyl & leather paint.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I decided to definitely stay with the gold. Ill stay on the lookout for a good deal and stop in some local shops to see if they can do anything to match for cheaper. Thanks again!!
