What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Washed my car and detailed the brand new aluminum wheels and then drove it in the rain yesterday.
Washing it again today to get all the road oil off now that the rain broke.:D

It's a hard dry rain.:D

lol aint got a clue how the - minus got in there !

Ya I ordered a Keith Black block back around 2008-2009 and ran 8.40’s@160mph till an oil line decided to break in 2010. Ended up sliding on my roof for 1/2 mile at Norwalk
like I said before , KICKA$$ ! "Not on the roof tho !
Wonder what a block would cost like that today, or do they still make them ?

Keith Black had money issues five years or so ago and were bought out. There’s a great post on Moparts about their new block. It’s very nice but a couple thousand more than I paid.

Test fitted my new Barracuda hood inserts I got from @Bad Sport

Well I took yesterday off to round up some parts. I hit two Tractor Supply stores to get a few items so I can set the proper clearances on my convertor and flexplate. This powerglide nitrous convertor has 6 mounting bolts instead of the usual 3. I couldn’t find a laser torpedo level local so I had to make the 60 mile round trip to Harbor Freight to get one. Being this used to be a small block car and will be using a different engine plate and transmission mount I want to take some good measurements off the rearend pinion yoke to double check alignment. I did take some time to mount my RacePak and nitrous controller.

Thanks. Baby steps. I wish I had my old get up and go. I have heads that need ported. Lol
Man thats no easy task! Now I see why they charge so much. I have only done 4 ports and probably have 4 hours or more and those 4 are very mild in comparison to most iv seen

View attachment 1715290416 Just checking it out in the garage.
Picked up my 408 from the machine shop two weeks ago , put it back in last weekend , hooked everything back up , went and bought some fresh BP 93 octane this morning poured it in and fired it up this afternoon , fixed an oil leak and set the timing, sounds good ready to go! Just waiting for better weather to go test my new throttle stop

Pulled steering gear out in December and sent for rebuild. Put back in Dart a couple of weeks ago, going out today and finish hooking everything back up. Have heat on in garage and will make a day of it :) Re built the coupler and put new seal on steering shaft and firewall gaskets. All I need now is Spring time!
I realized while doing this why I put it off the last couple of winters, what a pain in the butt. Will not be doing this again :(

Cold night in PA on the floor but my transmission mount modifications are done and the trans is bolted in the car. Hopefully tomorrow bolt the convertor up and throw the headers on so I can figure out some oil line routing

Thanks. He’s a good boy. The retriever on the other hand I have to keep an eye on. She likes to nick stuff.

It was a few hours in below freezing, but the engine and trans came out as one unit. The slant had a rebuilt head but a piston ring cracked, so the bottom end will get some proper attention. The 904 started to slip badly, so I will attempt in rebuilding that myself. :) Clean up everything and hopefully will be done by spring!
