My 2002 Dakota is hard on front brakes. Towing the boat or trailer and I have large tires. Anyone have a good recommendation for some new front brakes? I'll spend more than the parts store brand but, I don't need to go overboard. Thanks
I can't and don't want do the 2003 up spindle swap. I have Rancho lifted spindles.

Sounds like a spindle change to allow bigger brake rotors. I did t know this, if such is the case.

EBC pads?

What is the story on the spindle swap?

Rancho used to sell a lift kit that had a modified spindle to give the truck 3inch of lift.

Some guys swap the spindles from 2003-2004 (I think) to get different calipers an rotor size. I haven't research that option.

Never was impressed with the braking power of my 1998 Durango. It stopped fine, but felt like it should have been better. Helped to adjust the rear drums once in a while, but I don't think the rears did much. Scrapped it at 300k and never replaced the rear shoes. I replaced the wheel cylinders at one time thinking they were seized up. Looking back maybe I should have looked into different diameter cylinders.

Do you have trailer brakes?

Nope, I have a universal controller but, didn't want to cut wires. I may look for a plug and play. Just small 5x10 single axle trailer and 16ft aluminum boat on trailer. Nether very heavy.
