I am currently putting my 68 back together after body and paint. I’ve taken pics of almost every step taking it apart (4 years ago), but have no record of how the ebrake assembly is assembled. Does anyone have a diagram of that area, or any pics from their car where it is assembled? I’ve searched the internet for hours and have not found anything descriptive enough. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site... a 4.5 year member and only 5 posts?

I suggest downloading a 1968 Factory Service Manual (FSM) for your Barracuda. Not only will it show you the parking brake cable assembly but everything else about your car too as you put it back together.

Search the site, there are some good references about a year ago. The dash bracket is reversed in this pic but may help.

Thank you for the advice, I will do that. Yeah...haven’t been on in a long time- spent many weekends doing body work...now I’m finally getting to the fun part! See some pics of progress....

Red is the pivot mount on the pedal/column frame, Green is the cable mount, yellow is the dash frame mount but reversed on the pin from this pic but nut and stud still up.

Got it, thanks again- that’s helpful. I also ordered the FSM that h22A4 suggested....I should be able to figure it out from there.

This may help to.

The spring from the cable mount pin to the tab on the pedal frame.

The gills look cool on the 68, I actually thought of putting them on my Demon, but changed my mind.

Good job making it your own. I really like what you've done please keep posting the progress I'm very interested in what the finished product will look like!

Thanks for the comments. I’ll post progress pics as I go (and I’ll have plenty of other questions). I just got the rear suspension in and set up. It’s a Ford 9 with a RMS lynx system- really nice setup!
