I have a 2356015 on the rear of my duster.Will a 2556015 yield a lower e.t.?I have a 72 duster that runs 15 second 1/4 mile.I bracket race.

I doubt a taller tire is going to make it faster unless you are running out of the power at the stripe,or spinning off line.Usually you are looking for more gear/shorter tire for drag strip

I was running mt 29.5x10.5 and went to phoenix 29.5x10.5 and they are about an 1 in. taller. I have 4.30 gears and to my surprise it ran quicker and more mph in the 1/8th mile. But the bigger contact patch made it hook better.

Yep, so many variables

Means you were running out of motor with the shorter tire.

Tell us more about the car....

If 60' times improved, that's why the ET improved, as others mentioned, because of a wider contact patch (better traction). Sometimes a change that is not considered a performance improver actually helps. Another example would be adding weight to the trunk. Normally if weight is added, it slows the car down (roughly 100 lbs = .10 ET) But if it helps traction enough, it can improve the ET, AND consistency.

60' times are an indicator of starting line efficiency (tires/slicks, gearing, converter, accelerator pump set-up in a carb). MPH is an indicator of engine efficiency/horsepower.

Shorter tires/more gear usually helps, to a point. But the rest of the car has to be able to work with the additional overall gearing to apply it to the track and the engine needs to handle the extra rpms.

60 ft. went from 1.48 to consistant 1.42s. so contact patch and maybe tire compound a better match for my set up. Shift at 6600 go through 1/8 at 6100 coming on strong. Cant see it helping a 15 sec. car unless your running a stock type motor with to low of gears in the rear. Traction shouldn't be a problem on a 15 sec. car.

That's the same as askin "am I gonna win the lottery this year?" or "am I gonna score with that slut over there?"

You've left out everything from which we could derive an answer.
