A500 parts interchange with 904/998/999

What parts from the 904 family (904/998/999) will fit / work in a A500 ? Also is the (22.5 degree to 15 degree) overdrive planetary update. A needed thing ? or just a smart thing to do will your in there ?
For 300 HP would more frictions/steels be "needed" in the front on the trans, and the overdrive unit also ? For 300HP what mods would you think are really a must ?
What about the plastic servo in the A500,will a 904 servo fit/work ?
I've also seen to increase cooler lines from 5/16 to 3/8 or larger. But most coolers are set up for 5/16. Is that an issue ?
 
Subscribed as I will be using my A500 behind a stockish 66 273/235 (certainly won't be anywhere near 300hp) in my 65 wagon
 
If you need to do anything to the overdrive planetary I think the upgrade parts are all that's available. That is what my trans guy told me. He also added frictions and steels, though I'm not sure how many, as part of a stock rebuild. I told him I was putting it into a 300+ hp Duster.

Maybe what I want to know , are there any books that cover building the A500/A518 with performance mods. There are several books for 904/727. But is there a book to tell you what's what, for mopar overdrives ?
 
I just got a copy of Transtar catalog. I compared part numbers of the A500 to The 904/998/999 family. From what I can tell. That "most of the major parts" in the front automatic 3 speed section of the A500 will interchange with the 904.

not meaning to hijack, but related. Are the kickdown levers on the outside of the trans the same between different models, & primarily for me, the 904 & A500? I somehow didn't get the lever when I was getting the A500 from the Pick N Pull.

I just looked at the Transtar catalog. There are no part numbers for the kick down levers or shift levers. But my best guess is ..yes I think they would be the same. Because most everything else seems to interchange (by that I mean most things in front of the overdrive unit)
 
I will be picking up my rebuilt A500 and reworked converter from Dynamic Converters next week and can get the list of mods and what was done to enable the trans/converter to live behind a 340 if anyone is interested.
