Blueprint short block

They are probably making some changes to their product. They are pretty on top of things now and are probably whoopin up something different. I just bet.

New things coming down the pipe. Correct. With LA cores drying up, and as we transition to a new roller magnum setup, we need every core we can get for long block production. There are plans to get back into a short block once the new long block is up and going.

That's a fact. Especially the good old 4 bolt valve cover motors. Whoda thunk it? Man that stuff used to be EVERYWHERE.

Figured something of the sort, sounds good. Hey is there any kind of forum discount like you offered from pace?

Short blocks are pretty tight, and the entire industry is kind of dancing around these new tax mandates, tariffs, and freight, but PM me when you're ready and i'll see what i can do! i do greatly appreciate you guys coming to me!

All the old stuff is drying up. Magnums aren't exactly growing on trees around here. Maybe somebody will start focusing on affordable G3 Hemi solutions. The cost and nonsense on these motors is ridiculous. Mopar finally gave us a strong block, good flowing heads, and cores are everywhere. Why this isn't being persued is beyond me.

I paid about 7600 for my dressed 408 9 years ago. You can get a 3rd gen for a touch more now. Maybe 9-10 running. 3rd gen is taking the LA’s place.

Exactly! 9-10k for a basic running engine is a joke. A friggin $1,000 for an intake, $800 cams, ect. Only in the Mopar world do these prices seem reasonable. But the Mopar world seems content with half done cars that sit in garages for decades while pennies are pinched.

Ain’t that the truth. Kim

So according to Johnny Mac, they don't have enough 360 cores to deliver on long blocks, so obviously no short blocks. I get it. Dang it. I snoozed I lose. It was a great deal.

I have nothing against Magnums (duh), I'm just imbedded with LA stuff. It's all I have in my shop. Cams, intakes, heads. Scrap it all? Guess I'LL have to find my own 360 core and do my own 408 with a local shop. Or stroker 318. Or go another direction. Older Magnum block? Newer Magnum block with LA heads and the oil mods? G3? It'll be fun which ever way. Desisions, decisions.

Someone said being different is expensive. I guess LA is old and different now. Ouch.

Think I'll just build this ratty ole 318 with junior while I ponder it, and see how long it lasts. Why do I feel like a guy hanging on to a flathead Ford in the 60's?

There are lots of LA 360s out there yet. Maybe they will do ur core. If it too far to ship a core. Maybe another member can drop 1 off there thats close to BP. Kim

If we had em' we'd keep making them... sales numbers is what helps us pave the way to new offerings and platforms. If these magnums sell well (which I think you guys will like the horsepower bump over the current 408s and roller cams) then we look at a hybrid block...or the hemi...etc. believe me, I push hard internally to keep the mopar stuff going. The better it sells, the easier that conversation is. Since i came on to BluePrint, we now sell distributors, snipers, starters, 727's, front drives...on and on for mopars. I love offering all that stuff to you guys, and I'm excited to keep growing the line with you guys and gals help!

We buy from large core suppliers where we get a credit for the ones we reject. (Which is alot) and can freight in by truck. We cant ship cores a few at a time, or take consumer cores when we are punching out 50 engines a day. Simply too much chasing....sorry fellas. Like I said, I'm really excited about the new roller 408. And excited for future projects.

There is a thread on here on how to oil LA heads through the rear accessory hole on aluminum heads....worth a read!
