I am working on rewiring most of my car and an curious if there is a place to find new specialty connectors. For example: the 10 pin connector that plugs in to the steering column or the 11 pin round-connector that plugs in to the back of the gauge cluster, which is really just a holder for the round female jacks.

1969 Valiant for those who will be asking.

The 10 pin at column would be the signal switch harness. That one is often replaced with modern molex connectors. Some one here should have a good used round inst' panel connector. It's the same in lots of models.

You can buy those directly from M&H.

Have you been able to do that?
I've never tried because it says this on their FAQ page.
"Do you sell any Connectors or Terminals separately?

No, we only sell complete wiring harnesses. Connectors and Terminals are not available separately."

Some links for Chrysler terminals and connectors in this thread: Sources for Chrysler type wire terminals. There's some pictures which will may help you identify the types. Also there's a terminal illustration page in most of the parts books.

Sorry bout that they were selling shells a couple years ago.

The steering connector has pins termed "twin-lock", also used on Fords, but the housing is not avail. Most use junkyard parts and being under-dash, the plastic is usually still fine. One thought is to pick Dodge motor-homes since seems they used some 1960's connectors into the 1980's or 90's, probably as a way for Mopar to use up parts. At least, I found some useful connectors in picking, maybe even a steering one. BTW, I recall that connector was used in my 1969 Dart and think it changed when they moved the key into the column to double as a steering lock (~1970). Many other connectors are termed "Packard 57" or "Terminal 57" and used on GM's too and even home appliances. You can buy them on ebay and a few websites (I have, don't have ref at hand buy you can google). BTW, I think all/most Year One Mopar harnesses are made by M&H, based on their label I've seen on the bag, so probably cheaper and quicker to buy from them direct.
