Any of yall got any info on this car? It's scarce on the net, so he must not have driven it long.

Typical NASCAR - when Chrysler dominates, they handicap them or outlaw them... :steering:

That’s because like typical “Chrysler fashion.” They did not give to the powers at be. The same thing happened in TV land. During the late 60’s and early 70’s Chrysler vehicles were used on a lot of tv and movies. When Chrysler was asked to kick back for all this advertising they refused. This ending the Chrysler cars in TV and movies.

Here you go Rob. Nascar tried some compact car races in '60 and '61, but the Valiants outclassed the rest of them so bad, they dropped them. The 170 with the hyper pack was untouchable.

the compact war - racing compact cars

Yeah I've seen that article and all it's awesomeness, but I was wondering about Petty's car in particular. Never knew HE drove a Valiant. How cool is that?

I've said this before many times, but the reason is because Bill France with NASCAR and Wally Parks with NHRA were both Chebbie homos (no offense to any of our gay friends) and they both had hardons for Chebbies so they did any and all they could do to make sure Chebbie dominated. And I find it super hilarious that all the local Chebbie guys around here think they dominated through fast cars. Dumbasses.

And as many times as I've read that Allpar article, it even SAYS Richard Petty drove one and I've missed it every time. I'm a dipshit. We already knew that.

and he later drove co-drove a Barracuda with Rainville.
or overdrove it might be a better way to describe it.

After the Hemi dominated nascar in 64, France band the hemi for 65. This is why Petty went drag racing in 1965 in a Hemi b/altered.

Top picture was the first. Petty put "Outlaw" on it to protest the Hemi being banned in Nascar. Also the one that he crashed killing a 8 year old and injuring several others. Second picture was the second one of two built. The outlaw on the car was dropped.^^^^^
