They are finishing up a 72 Duster 340 tonite on Graveyard Cars. You don't see many A-bodies on the show.

lots of useful info on that show. i dont have cable but i bought the other episode with the duster on vudu. there was some good info on 71 steering columns in that episode

Cool. That car is in Feb issue Mopar Muscle. Nice build, "feel good" story.
Your right about the A bodies not getting much air time. Unless its a Hemi Super Stocker you never see em on the auction shows either

I had a rusty 72 Duster 340 4 speed. I got it off a member here. I put the whole drivetrain in my 68 Dart. I gave the Duster to another member here just for hauling it away.

One of Dad’s co workers first three cars were Dusters. The first new car was a ‘69 340 dart automatic, 3.55. The next new one was a ‘70 Duster 340 4 speed, a 71 340 automatic, both 3.55 cars. (He raced a 428 SCJ 4 speed mustang with the ‘70 and beat it by a car length each time, lol) The last 340 Duster was a ‘72 4 speed with 3.91 gears, white with black stripes. One of my uncles that went for a ride in it still speaks of that car with great awe and fear and says it should have never been equipped to do what it could. Got to love any car that can leave that kind of impression 50 years later!

A local guy here in CO has his car there and on the show. I think it is a B or E body. I was talking with him at a local car show. Great back story.

I would have hauled it away for free, too!

I had mixed feelings about the car on the show. The color to ME is not good BUT I did like seeing something different than the common Red, Yellow, Plum Crazy, B-5 Blue that I see all too often. I like new stuff but seeing it built as a tribute with the Cragar wheels was pretty cool.

I`ve seen a 69 barracuda fastback on there too, just not enough coverage of it .

Mark Worman already discussed restoring A -Bodies on the show and said that the cost of restoring an A-Body wouldn't be worth the effort. It is much more financially viable to restore B and E bodies although he would consider the 68 factory A-Body Hemi cars.

It will be interesting to see where the show evolves to in a couple of years when customers start to request more and more restomod type cars. He is already involved with the SRT -8 70-71 Cuda's, Chris Jacob's 68 GTX and others. He would do a phenomenal job with making the interior and exterior of an A-Body factory correct. (Wheels not so much) just update the suspension and powertrain, audio etc.. Then the A-bodies will come into their own.

Count me in as sold on this approach. There are many others on here who have done the same thing and are very happy with the results.

we have our 68 GTS there,,,and because A-bodies are so rare on there, it'll be featured on the show

he says 2 years, but seems like itll be 3+,,,he has 100+ cars there now,, upside is I couldnt buy the parts for what he charged and giving permission to use it on the show helped lower the cost

Congrats Jack . Mr. Worman is a genius at restoring cars HE deems worthy . Eventually he will run out of cars that HE can restore to OEM . The Mancini Bros. Restorations in Rhode Island are on his level . I think cars like a '64 Belevedere 426W 4 speed is worth restoring and worth more than a 383 Superbee . My point is if Mr. Worman is as smart as I think he is , he , eventually, will have to diversify . Just agreeing with you but in a different way . lol

oh i would definitely agree,,,and i contacted mancini,,they were one of our first choices,,,,i contacted quite a few top shops,,,replies i got varied,,,,from not able to take on a project like this right now,,,,or,,4-5 year wait,,,or 75k deposit,,,i think it was just not worth it in their eyes,,,which i dont begrudge them,,,,mark said yes after our first conversation and email, and its costing me less than i paid for my ram pickup truck.

i was looking in to restoring my car and doing it right as far as paint. i found this place in louisiana that dips your car to strip it down to the metal and then dips it to EDP coat it. just like worman at graveyard does. i was quoted 8500 dollars to do my body, doors, fenders, hood and trunk lid. i would really love to do that but 8500 is a little out of my league.
