Other side turned out a little better, will hsve to revisit the left side and basically redo the welds.

Thanks,Ray!
Hope it runs 1/2 as good as it looks.

Bridge closed, people wont leave me alone, but i finally managed to get it into shop. Couple hours and shaped, flattened and reshaped the lower rear piece
On the wheel opening patch.
Im satisfied, now on to tying in the inside part of the fender. View attachment 1715259039Other side will be easier, and it should turn out better. Thats the side i look at anyway.
hello did you sell/junk the rear quarter mod you removed from your car.

Cleaning floor up,some more work.
It is what it is. Wish i picked up that punch/flange tool.

Finally got the welder sorted out, working much better.

Got it back in shop this weekend.
First time upside down. I can roll it all the way over by myself now that i have it balanced. Floor patches finished and slathered on a quart of black paint.
I used paintable undercoating in wheel tubs and gave it a good coat of paint.
Not all that concerned, but i know its sealed from the elements. Also made a copper block holder for backing up holes to plug weld.

Sorry i havent been keeping up with the project. But another project fell in my lap and has pretty much been taking up lots of my free time and money. ‘51 fargo, trying to build a driver in less than a year, but its not going together as quick as i hoped.

I was impressed by your resourcefulness and ability to begin the transformation of a genuine "basket case" towards becoming something special again. You get good results without spending a small fortune on a lot of expensive gear. My projects usually don't go together as fast as I hope either. My 65 Cuda has been apart a long time. Life events occur and the car goes to the bottom of the priority list. While keeping my priorities in order I struggle not to lose sight of the things further down the list. You have given me some inspiration and I'll be looking to see what comes next for your Cuda. Good luck with your Fargo. I have a 57 Dodge D100. I spun a rod bearing back in 2000 and garaged it until I could afford to rebuild the Poly 315. Once again "Things...they happen" and down the priority ladder it goes one rung above the Cuda. Here's an old photo of it. All stock and has a push-button Torque-Flite. Have a beautiful Sunday.

Love your truck! Really like the colour!
My day’s work on my 51.its moving way too slow. Buddy was here polishing the shiny parts.

Great work! Really like your approach to make and modify your tools!
Thinking outside the box, for sure.

Just found this thread TJ. As always you be rocking it! Well done!
Well, it’s up a rung on the ladder as the Fargo is now a driver. My plan of attack is to get engine in and running. Then on to grinding off all 5 layers of paint. Patches in fenders to redo as well.

Update:
Still in a holding pattern, want to get back on it but not sure when. I am toying with the idea of selling it, as these 50’s trucks have peaked my interest. If i dont get any serious bites on it then i will finish it.
Get it done, driving and enjoy it.
