I'm having a hard time finding a hood release assembly for my 66 Barracuda. Does any one know of a cable release from another A body that will cross over to the 66. Any help appreciated.

Thanks Tim

I used a dodge truck cable, and brought it around to the passenger side from the middle dash area, I used the 66 latch that was on my 66 valiant

That's my problem, I have no original latch assembly and cant seem to find one. I might have to check the mopar junkyards.

I installed a cable hood release out of a 75 Valiant in my 69 Dart.

I think any later a body hood release will fit your 66 but you need to get the latch assembly with the cable.

The hood latch is different, but should bolt up to your hood latch/rad bracket on your 66

The main difference in hood latches is where the hand operated lever is positioned. I don't know what latches might interchange. Then adapting a inside release mechanism is what it is. I would make sure that the latch is a two step/stage latching. If its a single step/stage latching, a interior release could cause the hood through windshield scenario.
