Same exact symptom for me, I did attempt to back the cross shaft and worm gear off based on the fsm. It did get a small amount looser although the cross shaft adjuster was backed out against the cover as far as it would go. I have not driven the car yet though. I have a total of 10 miles on mine before I had to pull the engine. I tried backing off the adjuster also (it wouldn't go more than a 1/4 turn, maybe 1/2) and that seemed to make a very small difference. Maybe I'll send it back since the engine is out and the box is easy to access at the moment. Best of luck with yours. -Mark (too)
