4.2 will work. 5.0 is for the rmvb, and trans brake vb. I have been inside John Cope’s Trannies and they have all had the 5.0 lever. U adjust it to 1 1/2 turns from 72 inch pounds. U also need both springs in the front servo. U also need at least 10 springs in the front drum. I have built a few with the 5.0 band and never had a problem. Do u have pics of the front pump and converter hub that u changed out. Kim
