Why replace when they are easily rebuilt. Seal kits are less than $20. The pully puller can be borrowed fron Autozone and then all you need is a few hand tools.
Saginaw pump reservoir is pear shaped and Federal/Chrysler has a round reservoir. I just finished my 1970 Swinger 340 Fed pump and it took all of 2 hours to get it off the car do the rebuild and put it back on. I did the Sag pump on my Vette 2 years ago and it was just as easy.

I had to replace mine, rebuild kit didn't stop it from leaking. I have a Federal pump but with a "O" ring fitting. Most of the Federal ones I've seen use a flare fitting. Just to let you know, if you determine yours is a Federal type and you replace it.

The main reason for not rebuilding is a replacement comes with up to three year/36000 mile warranty. Just my thoughts. Thanks

If its a saginaw and you rebuild it, you can put in a different pressure relief valve for about $15 that sets the pump pressure lower than stock. This will give you better road feel at speed, and still enough assist for low speed and parking. $20 seal kit at rock auto, and you can buy the special pulley puller over at harbor freight.

Show us a picture of it and we can let you know what it is. ....
