Another member here was having trouble with the KYB shocks (if that's what you are referring to). Turns out he was sent B body shocks in the A body boxes. Do your shocks have a steel sleeve in the bushing on the top?

Hi yes the steel sleeve is bigger than the bushing just below the tread part , the top part of the shock
 
I don't know how it's going to "push out the bushing" and have a steel sleeve but haven't heard much from the OP anyway.
 
:rolleyes: Okay. Can you explain the problem again? Hole is too big that the shock stud goes through and the top rubber bushing goes through the hole? Post a picture?
 
I have KYB's on a 65 and they fit fine. IIRC top is just a 5/16 stud with a slight shoulder at the bottom for the lower bushing.
