Till you actually talk to someone who actually runs leaf springs and assasin bars and sliders you may not ever know all the in' s and out of it. I just left an x275 race at the texas motorplex . Did a lot of talking to john Hearld runs a 70 nova with leaf springs. Amazing info and insight on running a leaf spring car. His car ran a new best et today 4.55 1/8 156 mph I think on the mph. Very very informative. Give me a lot of insight . I've talk with a lot of folks on this subject in the past months. Learn more in one hour of actually talking with a working running 4.50's 1/8 mile car on leafs owner than I have in months. Just saying guys nothing like the real deal ..... Leafspringracers on Facebook . is a good join for those who don't know.

That's what was so neat. He is very well versed on Mopars. And how they work. This guy is a racer thru and thru. Just one of those guys who knows things.

I always love how there's at least one in every crowd who cannot see past different car makes. Great information. Thanks for sharing. If there was ever a car that's close to an A body, it's the Nova.

^^^^I hovered over the send button for a minute there hoping that you wouldn't take me wrong, but your agree made me feel good...

I've said this before but one of the guys that I race with that has a serious race car, races almost every weekend and goes out of town all the time for Team races. Anyways one day I mentioned this forum to him and he said forum? And started laughing so hard I thought he was going to fall over and I was going to have to catch him.... To this day I never seen him laugh so hard...
98% bench racer heaven LOL...

I can't tell you how many people have asked me if my car was a Nova! LOL I don't think there's a person here with a duster on the Forum who hasn't been asked that...

I'm a Mopar and Ford guy. My daily driver is a 07 mustang gt . Tuner and c/a kit. Best 1/8 with the mustang 8 47 at 83. 13.19 1/4 103 mph. Mopars are just in my blood for race cars. I need money more money lol !!! If I had more money you would see a real mopar competing with all the streetoitlaw guys. All mopar. Mr Lyle Barnett has already proved that. With money I'm sure slot of us on this site could invade with mopars. Lol

Except it has longer front spring halves , makes a big diff. when setting up and tuning------------

I don't ever leave hard and it was not my fault that the leafspring folded leaving breakfast with my lady on board. That was just a flaw in the metal........

:rofl::steering:

Did yours also come with a big yellow stamp that said made in Mexico? LOL my wife ordered mine for Christmas and one came to the door and she said to the UPS man hey isn't there supposed to be two? he said oh crap and ran to his truck and took off and came back 10 minutes later with the other one LOL

Yes it did.

The crappy thing is the car can run for a thousand rides but the one time the spring folds is the one time your woman will remember for ever.....

All in all the sliders work great. That 1970s tech still works.

The assasian bars are neat. Just like cal tracks but way more leverage. And they look bad ***.

My springs are inside the frame a 1/4 inch to make up for the front hangar thickness.

The slider lowers the car the what ever the height of the shackle is +3/4 inch.
I did notch the piss out of the front of the frame for the front spring eye.

I needed the rear up to allow me to run a tall tire. Next time I redo the rear I will raise the wheel well up about 6 inches to allow the car to sit over the tire more. Although that does create more problems. (You can not remove the wheel with out detaching the rear spring eye and shock.)

This puts the front spring eye on the same plane as it was before I moved the springs in. You can see the hole lines up right with the old bolt hole. I did move the entire assembly back about 2 inches to make the most of the wheel house. The large diameter tire needs to be centered in the arch. From the factory the springs are to far forward to work with.

SS springs, ford 9 inch, 4.88 gear, spool. 29x10.5x15 slick.
