Leaf spring cars

This puts the front spring eye on the same plane as it was before I moved the springs in. You can see the hole lines up right with the old bolt hole. I did move the entire assembly back about 2 inches to make the most of the wheel house. The large diameter tire needs to be centered in the arch. From the factory the springs are to far forward to work with.

SS springs, ford 9 inch, 4.88 gear, spool. 29x10.5x15 slick.
Have you run your car yet ? If so does it 60ft good. This guy I talked to run a single calvert spring with reverse berl eyes on both ends. With the Assasin bars and sliders. He also had the spring dearched approx 1 to 1.5

It 60s like nobody's business.

My car is a "street car" so no numbers, but just about nothing on the street will pull on me from a stop.

My **** is not fast but its built to be quick.

So what was learned besides that leafsprings can be quick and fast?

Or did you want to know how?

Just wondering what you learned?

This guy is rocking man. 4.55 1/8 . 60ft I think he said a 1.10. The reason he went with what I have explained was to get low. Her the back end down. He said that the problem he is having. By doing the sliders, rearching the spring , and assasin bars he got it down about and 1.5. View attachment 1715301732 View attachment 1715301732

Getting the *** down on an A body with a tall tire is not easy. Its gonna take a lot of cutting.

Next time I I will put the tub right up to the package tray. But then again it's not as easy as it sounds and it creates a few more issues.

Jesum crow man. I just wanna hear what you picked up?

I showed you mine, let's see yours?

I know it can be done. I wanna hear what you learned?

Yes that's something learned. And mix matching parts to get to your goal. I would have never used Calvert and Kim Smith Assains bars together for one. I don't know why I just wouldn't have till now. And that yes you can fo really fast on leafs. He is doing this 4 sec 1/8 on a x275 tire. That's not a big tire at all. 28.5 slick is close to that 275 size.

How can I make her better?

I have not had the chance to talk to anyone who runs leafsprings and sliders.

I'm always looking for advice.

He also runs a Kim Smith anti roll bar. This thing is awesome.he said with that amyi roll installed he can let go of the steering wheel. This car goes straight and fast. The installation of ride height sensors has proven a be very beneficial to him also.

Very nice car you have there . beautiful car . what kind of 1/8 mile or 1/4 have you ran with yours

This is one way to mount sliders. This makes.the slider adjustable. This seems.to be a.great idea to me. Especial if.your street racing. You may need more of less.susp. travel . well you can adjust if you need to. Google slider mount pics . a ton of them show up. Here is one another guy has

Street car. She dont run times. Just first or last.

No timing beams at the stop light.

MOPAR small block, 3/4 race cam. Headers, ultimate converter, twin carbs, tunnel ram on pump 91.

Fully gutted, full aluminum interior, frame tied and caged front to back.

If it can be cut out, I cut it out.

She's slow but will get to the end lickety split.

Wow, he plans for a lot of spring twist.
He said he welded that bar and slider mounts in and has bot changed any of it. If he does need to make a change he can move the sliders frontward or back. And that 3/4 race cam u got there. Would it in the 110 to 112 lobe angle

I'd like to see that car sitting on the ground.

My cam is 107 LSA.

but see now we getting into facts. If I told everyone what I had I would never win.

:)

The trick is to sneak up on em. Although its hard to sneak up on folks in my car
