It'your era, man!!! LOL

Back to Rob's car, i think it will look awesome with the slots on it as is.
It would be great to see that car cruisin' along..............

Got it tagged today and title applied for. I test drove it but it started raining hard. Wipers came in and worked great then stopped. Came back on. Then stopped. Did this about five or six times so I took it back home. Slobbed RainX all over the windshield because it's GETTING DRIVEN to work tomorrow. Now I need to figure out the intermittent wiper thing. Yall got any ideas?

That’s not stock?

Perhaps the switch is twitchy or gets to hit for good electrical flow? Or the wiper motor itself isn’t right.
Knowing the system is simple, the last thing in the area is the ballast. Cracked porcelain?

Good luck Bobby.

Hell I aint familiar with these things. The wiper system has a ballast? Where is it? It does act as if maybe it's heating up and quitting.

Not all have a ballast. I am unfamiliar with those early years. It was a stray thought that came into my head.

If it had a ballast, it would be wired in sitting /bolted onto the wiper motor.

Go over the wiring end to end and clean all the contact points.

Thanks. I have already cleaned and inspected the main bulkhead connector, and every other connector on the car. I haven't paid real close attention to the wiper motor other than its connections. It may have a ballast, I don't know but I ail certainly look. Thanks man.

Got the headlights aimed tonight so I can see when I drive home from work tomorrow night about 10-ish. They are purdy danged bright. I feel sure I will get flashed and not in a good way.

RATS!!! Rob, I was teasing you about gold rims..... the jokes on me! Now I keep thinking of the Mopar Missile Duster and it's gold dish mags, and the Motown missile, and it's gold dish mags, and what they might look like on my '74 Gold Duster....

Took the car on its maiden voyage today. To work and home is about 20 "or so" miles round trip. It ran very well. Pretty snappy for what it is.

Now you can advertise
“Still on the road,
parts from O’Reilly’s.”

Gold baby! I'd be all over those...

Nothin' quite like the "first time out" after a successful resurrection.

Christ all mightie, is that thing safe to drive?

:poke::lol:

Ha, just messing with ya. Nice job! I'll bet it feels great to be out on the open road, seeing those white lines disappear in the rear view along with the random socket and wrench that got forgotten under the hood.

That’s awsome Rob! Congratulations on the maiden voyage.

It’s good to see ya in an A body again.

I don’t believe the early wiper motors have a ballast on them. I’ll see if I can find pics of Jason’s.

Glad to hear you are having fun with it!
Isn't that what it's all about?
Can't wait to see it with the gold slots on it.............

Freakin A man! I wish more people got that in there head instead of, “It’s not finished, why are you driving it, your missing.....”

Freakin resto-nutz-O’s.

Congtrats on getting her on the road! Got an idea! Put a pic of her on a large can at OReilly's with note that says " donations for paint"!! ha I know, there in Macon, Ga. that are chevy people that would give their last pork rind for that patina!
