Looking to replace my leafs in my 71 swinger as far as I know there stock original with new bushings I installed its gotta 318 with a 8 3/4 I just installed. My question is does anyone have specs on myb bumper height or wheel opening I just wanna see how far off it is from original. I called espo she said original replacements would probably raise it two inches if there original. There 190/70/14s on it. I put new shocks on it last summer monroes it just seems really soft back there.

i have two 71 dart swingers. one has 7 1/4 and one has 8 3/4. both have factory leaf springs. they are both 21.5 inches from floor to wheel well lip.

Stock height ESPO springs raised my 66 Barracuda 1.75", so Laura is in the ballpark for sure.

What size tires you have ? And were those springs new stock cuz I'm actually 20.5 inches the first time I measured the front end was on jack stands

Springs, rear tire size, front tire size, and torsion bar adjustment will all change the rear height. Even the spare tire and the difference between a empty or a full fuel tank makes a difference.

Get a spirit level 4ft. long and set on the rocker ..this will tell you if car is level . do not guess at this . If you have replaced the rear spring bushings just snug up the bolts , do not tighten them . torque them only when car is on the ground and weight is totally on the tires . As tmm says , everything you put in the car changes the ride height . I would go so far as to jounce the springs a few times b4 tightening the bolts . Just so your not in a bind . JMO

If you are going to change the springs, bother to get 6 leaf springs for a 340 - ESPO has them.

So then it would be pretty safe to say that all springs that have no positive or lowered ride height would have the same ride height, but would have different spring rates. Meaning they would be more firm or soft riding. Now from the comments it seems that new stock ride
height springs would raise the car about 1-5/8 to 1-3/4 inch from where the 50 year old springs are currently at. 21" to the fender lip on my 26 inch tall tires and 20.5 and 21.5 on previous comments with similar tire height. At that point its probably safe to assume that if you
have 40 or 50 year old springs and replace with new stock ride height springs it would give you a lift of just over 1.5 inch. and if your not putting slicks under the back of your car, you can probable avoid high lift and high rate springs unless you want the rear jacked up and or a rough riding street car.
