Thanks - ahead of time - for your patience. I just bought the Doctor Diff front disc brake conversion for my 1967 Dodge Dart 270. The front brakes had been 9" drums.

I purchased the upper control arm ball joint adapters as a part of the package. Here's the stupid question (drumroll please!) -

I need to buy an upper ball joint to fit a '73 or newer A-body for this, correct? As in, I can't use upper ball joints for a '67 upper control arm, correct?

"upper ball joint adapters" ---------I assume you mean the tapered stud adapters?

Bigger, disk brake balls will not fit the 67 arms, the hole is smaller. The reason for the adapters is that you use the older arms and balls, and the tapered adapters make up the slack in the spindle holes

Dr Diff:

Mopar A-Body Upper Ball Joint Tapered Adapter

Package includes 2 tapered (upper) ball joint bushings and 2 hardened 7/16"-20 flange nuts.

Precision machined 4130 cr-mo bushings are used to install common '73 and newer 5 x 4 1/2" bolt pattern A,B,E,F,M,J Body disc brakes on '72 and older A-body UPPER control arms.

Also works with '72 and earlier B or E body drum or disc brake knuckles.

Must use '73-'76 A-body LOWER ball joints, available at any parts store.

Thanks for your patience. I really ought to have opened the package and looked before asking my question. Feel like a fool.

The tapered adapters worked perfectly, of course! Thanks again.
