Gonna build a basic race 451 just need to find an article on how much to cut the counter balances.Can anyone help?

The general rule of thumb is to start at .120 thou. But it ultimately depends on how light ur rods and pistons are then drill holes in the counter weights to balance it. If u take to much off u will need to add Mallory metal which gets expensive. Kim

Thanks I'm using icons&676 h beams.this will have a 558 lift lunati can with performers i 'll add 1.6 rockers if I need to . I don't need big horses for bracket racing,real 340 demon,we don't want to cut up.
Then why not build a 408 from a 360? Oh ya, udont have the big block appeal then. I wouldn’t build a Sb either. Kim

It's had a big block most of its life .don't have small block parts l need to chuck.although it came close to us in a borrowed 360.take care!
