I got manual and power steering boxes. I want to put that power steering box on my car. The problem is, thats with large spline shaft. And the bigger problem is, that early a-body pitman arms(large size spline) are very pricey...
Is it possible swap that manual input shaft(which is small) to that power box?

Thanks for your help!

-Janne from Finland (..and sorry my bad english)

I think OP was asking if he could take the manual shaft out and out it in the PS box. But, yea your's is the ticket.

I am of the opinion that power steering columns and inputs were intentionally engineered larger because of the extra effort required to steer in the event of having to steer without power assistance.

I am of the opinion that early A bodies are so light, power steering makes no sense. My 64 Valiant drives like a dream. I can actually palm the steering wheel from lock to lock at a dead stop.

Absolutely correct! I never have been very partial to power steering, always preferred the simplicity and road feel of a manual box, from Chevy II all the way up to 1971 D100 and 1960 F-350.

Thank you all!
I must think this...

I got -67 Dart with power steering(and big block) and like it..
But of cource Valiant is lighter, smaller and with small block etc.

Negative. Slant six. But yes, I can certainly see where power steering would be handy with a big block in the nose.
