How to pull the axles on a '65 7-1/4" SG ?

I looked again today to find the bolt that locks in the shafts. Can't find it.
Rusty is correct in #2 according to instructions I found online . My parts book shows the C clips .I can give the part no. There are abt. 6 bolts on each side of the diff hold it together. I wonder if I need to loosen one set? I can't get going on this.

Today I ran across an opportunity to buy a running 273 with the tranny attached.
I am told the engine is clean with a lot of original paint and a friend heard it run.
What do you guys think it is worth with or w/o the tranny?

No. That rear end is like an 8 3/4 in regards to removing the axles. Remove the brake drums. Look behind the axle flange at the brake backing plate around where the axle goes through. You will see 4 nuts around the perimeter of the axle hole in the backing plate. Remove those. Then get a length of chain about 3 feet long. Attach each end to a wheel stud with a lug nut. Then grab the chain in the middle with your hand good and tight. Give a few good hard snatches and that axle should come out. If it doesn't, you'll have to get a slide hammer and an axle adapter and knock it out with the slide hammer.
