Mmmm - those 401's can get a wriggle on when breathed on especially, but strange how most have a built-in 5,000-5,500rpm built-in Rev limiter: 343ci,360 or 401 cubes; most all std react the same. In fact from the 1st 3434bbl drove found it best to actually "short shift" them.
I checked the Mopar dealer service manager over the phone: he Confirmed some came in with the extra bolt valve cover Magnum ? 360's for a time, before the later gen V8's.
