I am SO tired of winter.

I've been off work for the last six weeks due to surgery, but am going back today. The temperature is zero and wind chill is -20 degrees. Oh, did I mention that we work outside? I'm getting too old for this ****...

Feel for ya, I did that all my life .

Today was the first good melting day. A lot of the snow on shop roof slid off.
My two barns were snow covered too, they lost a lot of snow.
So its looking up. Bout time.
And the bridge crew gets a break from the cold.
They only took a couple days off when it got really cold.

I lived in Mo. about an hour west of St. Louis for 53 years. Retired and move to Florida about 8 years ago. Living in Mo you got 5-6 months of Cold gray wet weather each year then it got so frickin hot and humid I couldn't stand it anymore, The older I got.Half your life sitting inside with cabin fever. Down here you get 2 seasons - spring and summer, Not near as hot as in Mo in the summer. So the moral to my story is- I figure I get twice as much time to enjoy my retirement.

Move to 31547, 31558,31548
You are just above Florida, great community, and we don’t know what that white sand is that you have, nor any use for those curved plows you have.

Of course you trade the most glorious winter for a very humid/moderate hot June, July, August, maybe a week or two in September.

Sometimes June ain’t that bad, land away from the coast is cheap, 3 major navy bases nearby, plus a small army base and Air Force base remotely close-good economy.

I am only leaving for a free house, & to be close to family

Can’t complain about winter in Dallas...just don’t ask me about summer.....

It's cute what some of you call winter! Here's a look out my back window today! About 65" of snow this year moving about 40 mph!

67Dart273 Looks like you have plenty of snow out there on the North end of Idaho. We used to run our Sand Rail Dune Buggies out there at St. Anthony Dunes. One of the most favorite places to go Dunnin'

Put my buggy to work plowing snow now when it is not too deep, Minnesota Snow . . . They have lots and lots of snow now too.

By FAR the coolest snow plowing rig I've ever seen!!!

Yes the Buggy Plow works nice.

Old Play Set Slide converted into a light plow blade. And the Buggy has Left and Right Steering brakes, so you can stay on track while plowing and whip her around 180 degrees at the end of the run. Makes Winter a little bit fun when you can get a handle on a few things.

Thanks

Looks like a little 1600cc v dub engine in some of the pics - probably does ok as it's so light.

spring has sprung on the Camas prairie after a snowy bitter cold February and early March. They say no more snow this spring and 50 degree temps next week.

Yes, 64 Dart 270,

1600 cc VW block with the 1835 cc over bore cylinder kit with Hogged Out Ported stock heads, an aggressive Low End Torque Performance Cam . . it's a thumper . . , and 2 bbl Progressive Carb . . so it has a secondary to open up and play with for added power, and the header, external auxiliary oil cooler and add on oil filter really helps it to run cool on those hot days. Pushing around 100 horse power.

Also has good beef up parts in the drive line so things don't blow out, like the 280Z Drive Shaft conversion we adapted too it . . Super Strong, the stock vw CV joint style type drive shafts would always blow out for anyone that was using them.

And yes we built it light and strong so that it can climb high on the dunes from not being over weighted, .090" ths wall light tubing construction instead of the .125" ths heavy wall tubing. Makes a big difference on total weight of the buggy.

And Traction, my god that Buggy has traction with the engine hanging out over and beyond the rear wheels, along with the universal Desert Trac sand tires. Really hooks up in the snow good, also have a set of 15 inch wide Paddle Tires for running up the steep sand dunes at St. Anthony Dunes in Idaho.

Thanks . . . Fun to Share . .

It was 72 today...at the Long Beach marina! Gotta love So. Cal...for the weather at least. But I'd give it up in a heartbeat for a day on the slopes.

The Camas prairie can be one bleak area in winter! Bet you ARE looking forward to no more snow.

It was mid 50's Wed. first time in MONTHS .. took out my car to put some gas in and just drive a few miles. Got gas, haircut, and there were couple of graybeards around it when I came out, and we bullshited about the car. Took off and while heading home about 40 mph it sputtered and quit. Damn. Rolled to side of road and had nothing in the car, not one tool. Tried to re-start, turned over but wouldn't fire. Looked in trunk and there was the old distributor in there. I took it out and tapped the carb a few times thinking maybe the needle was stuck. Got in and after about 30 seconds it fired. Home James. Went to get a fuel filter and carb cleaner. Starts fine ,we'll see next decent day... whenever that is. Hate this ****!

Snow is all gone here and the thermometer almost hit 60 degrees yesterday afternoon. Time to pull the Dart out of hibernation and beat on it a little bit.
