How do the Hankook Ventus (H101) compare to the Cooper Cobra GT tires as far as performance and such?

what are the speed rating, traction and treadwear number of each?

I have a suspicion the hankook's are higher speed and less wear (wear out faster).

I ran those on my Dakota R/T, as they were one of the very few made in that oddball size.

With that said, I believe the coopers are 120 MPH rated.

Coopers are 440AB and 107T
Hankook are 400ABa and 107S

both have 11/32 tread depth. Looking at the 275/60R15 sizes

I can get the Coopers for $119 and the Hankooks for $103.

I never seen a 3rd letter in the rating system.
Otherwise they look about equal besides the “S” & “T” ratings. And that is a small difference.

I have the Coopers in my Magnum. There fine and OK. I just drive the car around. It is not a burnout machine or really very quick in any sense. I feel the Coopers could be a little better in the rain. I back it down a bit in the rain.

Have you have had or have now (?) the Coopers? So, why not give the other a shot?
Just wondering.

Which look do you like best (tread, sidewall, RWL, or not )

1st time buying tires for my car as I just got it all together. It will just be a cruiser, lucky if I drive it 1500 miles a year.

The don’t know how the other tires due with just sitting. In an example, I wasn’t to fond of my Michelin‘s cracking on the inside within two years.
My Coopers are holding up fine.

I doubt you are going to be able to detect any performance difference between these two tires. The wear spec favors the Hankook being stickier, but again, I doubt a slalom course or drag strip would show much difference. Both are good brands. I've had better luck with Hankook in other applications but have Coopers on my car now. With your description of use I would go with the one that is easier to get installed or cheaper or whatever floats your boat one way or the other. The car won't be able to tell the difference.

I bought Coopers from www.discounttiredirect.com (full replacement 10 year warranty, at least when I bought mine last year) not the same as discount tire but owned by the same company. They met their Ebay price and were really easy to deal with. Give them a call.

I have used Cooper Tires for 40 years, Just bought a pair of smaller ones for the Volare. They cost a few $ more than Wally but I supported the local small town tire store.

Cooper. On everything I own.

I've used both Coopers and BFGs, and found no significant differences but I liked the Cobra RWL better. Both of them physically age very well, but both of them only have traction during the first summer. Sometime before or during the second summer, they turn hard and become skates. But, at least predictable skates, with no surprises.

I have hankooks on the front of my 505" 68 fastback, no complaints. I have run coopers way back in the past , no complaints .
I have been running hankooks on my ex-dodge and now ram pick up, after taking the factory goodyears off, there is a noticible diff in ride quality w/ the hankooks, --smoother than goodyear ! No problems w/ wear, I even had them switched when I traded about a 1 1/2 yrs ago , hankooks hands down over the goodyears !!

Gotta add, the coopers never showed me anything extra -----???
