Air Compressor help

12 CFM @ 40 and 12 CFM @ 90 ???

I have an 80 gallon Bel-Aire that I bought from my NAPA store in 2000.... only thing I replaced were two capacitor's in the motor. $5.00 in parts.

Horrible Freight's compressor's are pretty good... pretty much use US tanks, Mexican motors and Chi-Com pumps. Buy the warranty.

Can’t go wrong with the Quincy from compressors direct.! Bought a Bel Air form them, but would buy anything they have, and best bang for the buck. In my opinion.

I've been looking for a new compressor for the shop and saw the kobalt 80 gallon for $904. 175 psi 90cfm 5hp two stage 3 cyl. I did some research and believe it is manufactured by Campbell hausfield. Mixed reviews on it, more good than bad. Home depot is selling the husky 80 gallon for around the same price. I've been checking out the IR 80 gallon from T.S., for a little more money it looks like a good deal, and the reviews while gar more good than bad. The bad ones are scary, constant leaks, motors going up in smoke with very little run time in them, poor customer service and warranty follow through. One said that because T.S. had bought the unit 3 months before they sold it new to him it was part of the factory warranty and fell short of it being replaced for him. Doesn't a warranty start when the end user customer purchase it from the distributor. Not when the distributor gets it from the manufacturer?

It's NOT 90 CFM.

Id's compare the CFM @ 90 PSi ratings and ignore almost everything else.

My bad, your right 90 psi, cfm 4 175 psi cfm 0, 100 psi cfm 3.8 if that sounds right.

4 CFM @ 90 is terrible unless it's $200

what's your budget?

Yeah, I saw that one sitting next to the 80 gallon kobalt. I checked another site for the specs on the 80 gallon after seeing the 60 gallon specs. The 80 gallon is 15 cfm @ 90. So I think it would be more in the realm of what I am looking for. That said, I am still liking the IR from tractor supply.

That's a good looking unit. I think the kobalt is the same unit with a different sticker. As I am fairly certain that Campbell makes the kobalt for lowes line.

you can do a lot better

here's 10 CFM @ 90 for just over $500

I'd look at IR units from Tractor supply as well.

I don't think you can go wrong with any IR air product.

Never seen a two stage spec out like that Essentially same capacity (only 10cfm) at 40, 90, and 175 PSI? You can do better than that with a less expensive single stage.

The one at Menard's is pretty good and I've had excellent results with CH products. It should also fall under their 11% rebate/coupon/sale.

i bought the 80 gal. two stage from tsc in dec. 2017, for 999 bucks. it may blow all to hell tomorrow, but so far it's been a great compressor and does any thing i need.

You should have at least 14.5 cfm at 90 psi if you plan on painting, and body work.and a larger tank = less cycling.

I think with the husky and kobalt being made by top compressor companies, seems silly to pay more when a guy can get the same thing with a different sticker on it for a few hundred dollars less. And the kobalt 80 gallon comes with a 3 year warranty on it right out of the box.
They make the Husky compressor too.

Good deals are out there. Got this one for free and a little cash for the enclosure and pad to mount it on a 30 amp disconnect and wire. All told about $250 of pocket money.

I'm 20 minutes north of Milwaukee and I go right to hustiford where rol-air are made and bought them right out of the factory. We also have a truck mounted one with a 13 hp Honda on it that had a ding in the tank for under 2000. They stock all the parts for um too... I don't know how far away you are....
