Thinking about doing this 440 build at some point -- opinions needed

Seems like a big number for that combo but I have been wrong way too many times this month already lol.... I guess my main concern is will the heads flow enough for that much HP....

That is an old build, you can improve on it by using Trick Flow heads and a Trick Flow intake manifold. I'd also ditch the carb and use a Holley Sniper with the Hyperspark distributor. Then you'll have self tuning EFI, computer controlled ignition, CNC ported heads, and a built in data logger all for roughly the same price as that build. If you add a 4.25 stroke crankshaft you'll pick up about 100 ft-lbs of torque for not too much more money.

I had to quit reading, when it came to looking at the big block chev in mill, I just stopped. BBC are good , but get the photos right!

I am thinking about doing this 440 build at some point. Do the power numbers add up? Anyone have any experience with a similar build? I would most likely use adjustable rockers though. Maybe even one step smaller cam.

How You Can Build a Stout 537HP Street 440
Probe Pistons are discontinued. but appear to be very similar in specs to the L2355 Speed Pros. I'm essentially building the very same build with the only differences being a Torker II and the L2355s.

Yeah easily. There’s similar builds pushing those numbers

I'm trying really hard to stay out of things now, but just to remember my dad again for a little while...........440 dyno tests using the XE285HL cam.

'Pop's Engine' another 440 on the dyno.
Thanks! I was trying to remember the name of that thread to link in here. This is the build I built my 440 combo on. Saving now for the final few piece and it’ll be together

Pretty much what my motor is but i have a bigger cam and a smaller carb. I'd like to put a bigger carb on at some point. Guys here told me I'd be lucky to see 500hp. Who knows, i don't really care as long as it feels fast. I'll let ya know if a month or two what my seat of the pants dyno says.

Yeah take everything people on forums claim with a spoonful of salt.

When they say lucky to see 500 hp, hell, even if it’s just close to 500, your car is gonna be fast.

Trick Flow has a nice top end kit. If I was looking for 500 hp and had no idea how to get there, that's what I'd would spend my money on. Premium parts at a fair price.

Disclaimer- I am in no way affiliated with trick flow industries. lol
